Lungbarrow (2015)

I am seeing a couple of Lungbarrow versions on Ebay, that say ‘Reproduction 2015’ on the back. Is that right? And are they worth the same as the old ones?

So apparently these are bootlegs. Why they would clearly mark them as bootlegs is beyond me.

Yea from what ive heard they were a fan reproduction of them. Tho they did have the blessing of Marc Platt to do so I believe

I wouldn’t even mind, I just want to have and read a physical copy. But the prices go as high as the originals…

Sometimes bootlegs are still rare and valuable in their own way. My brother collects YuGiOh cards and knowingly bought a bootleg card that was still worth something like £200 (and resold it at a profit)

Not sure if that’s the case here, could just be those kinds of scammers that try to trick people who don’t read the fine print

I wish I’d known about this bootleg run in 2015. I find it very difficult to get myself to read ebooks. Too many distractions on a digital device, y’know?

I’d love to own a physical copy of Lungbarrow. Mind you, I am surprised the bootleg tried to reproduce the look of the original 1997 publication. I’d have thought they’d use the circa 2003 ebook cover. Although I suppose then they’d probably want to use the revised 2003 text as well?

I wonder if whoever did the 2015 bootleg printing is still around in the fandom. Would love to get in on a second run of this. Naturally I’d prefer it if the BBC did a reprint, but aside from putting Year of Intelligent Tigers, Infinity Doctors, and a couple of other BBC Books ones back into print (via print-on-demand) they’ve not served the excessive demand for the Wilderness books in the past 20 years. So, at this point if it was possible to get a new bootleg pressing, I’d gladly go for it.

Surprised anyone’s selling the bootleg for as high as they are though. Looks like someone’s trying to flog them for as much as £200… For that much money you could get the '97 printing… >_>
