Not sure how likely it is, but all the chatter of meetups made me curious if anyone is going to LIWho at the end of the month. Because I will be! I need to get sewing though - I’m cracking out the old Narvin cosplay again, and I promised my friend I’d make her a matching Romana… which I haven’t started yet
Destiny of the Daleks is a great costume! I’m going to sew more of a creative liberties President Romana outfut, and she’s also put together a Horns of Nimon outfit too. If she’s happy for me to do so (and if my sewing works out) I’ll post pics later
Hello from LIWho! We’re having fun here already, and I am spreading the word about tardis.guide looking forward to finally showing off this bloody cosplay today, I hope it is all worth it!
Is anyone here planning to go to LIWho this year? I’ll be there at least on the Saturday It’s just hit me I really need to work on my Veklin cosplay because time is starting to run out for working on it!
Day 1 outfit, some have said gives them Mr Dr Who, but I’ll be so real I did buy this fabric bc it reminded me of Rachel Jensen :) but this isn’t really cosplay as much as just my clothes so I’m happy with any sort of interpretation
Not going to make it this year, but it’s a nice little convention, I’d go back another year. It might become my main annual con after Gally ends, depending on what ends up taking its place in 2029.
Definitely the easiest one for me to get to as well, Philly’s about half as far as Boston even. The getting around and actually sort of through NYC part is the main frustration, close enough that flying is more of a hassle than it’s worth. Wish there was any other way to drive to Long Island, but it’s geographically impossible.
The last few years I’ve driven down through Connecticut and got the ferry which has been fine, if long and the ferry is a bit pricey; but this year I used my new sexy flight benefits (and free parking benefits) to get a flight straight from Logan, which was really easy actually.
Just at the airport and I have had a wonderful weekend!! Lisa Bowerman was the highlight for me, of course, and I bothered her a lot about Benny the whole time which she handled with a lot of charm and grace <3 Jo Martin was also lovely and I’m really glad I got chance to sit and chat with her - she’s very well spoken about Fugitive and I feel bad I’ve not listened to her audios now. I’ll do them this week most likely! And of course, Carole Ann Ford is a legend, and having her recognise Veklin was a joy.
I also had a great time in the panels and chatting with people. Everyone at LIWho is always so lovely and it’s a really nice, cosy con. I sat and did crafts for a while on Saturday, and today I won a BF quiz and was quietly deranged with people who get it and are as bonkers as me. I really love this con and I already got my ticket for next year
This is so cool!!! I am really jealous of you!!! Your cosplay was awesome!!! Random question, Do you have a bag for your stuff or how does that work when you do cosplay?
