Let’s meet up IRL! (London 14th/15th September)

Over in the topic about The Stuff of Legend Live, we found out that several people from here will be in London to see the show on the 14th or 15th September.

But also whether you’re seeing the show or not, if you’re nearby you could come and meet us!

We need to arrange a time and place to meet, either on one day or both, so please respond below if you can make it and your ideas. Perhaps being after the first showing on the 14th and before the second, near the theatre, in a pub would be best?

I’m not great at organising stuff like that so please let’s try and do it together!

And I am going to try and get something exclusive to give to everyone who attends - watch this space! But there will also be a forum badge to earn

Exciting!

Where and When

The official meet up is on Saturday, 14th Sept at 16:30pm at the pub called The Antelope (it’s very close to the venue).

Also, if you’re at the afternoon performance, some of us will be there handing out leaflets, come say hi!

Then on Sunday 15th I’ll be at the afternoon performance, come and say hi!

I’ll create a chat channel for us.

Confirmed should be attending at 16:30 on 14th Sept:

@shauny @deltaandthebannermen @Shayleen @monkeyshaver @ThetaSigmaEarChef @joerack @JayPea @BSCTDrayden @peribrown @MarkyMark @NonbinaryAroace
@DancingQueen1999

If you’re going, please let me know and I’ll add you to this list!

AH, I’m going to have to miss out. London’s beyond the reach of my energy levels, but I hope all who do meet up have a great time! If there’s ever a low-key, quiet meet up in the East Suffolk area, count me in (assuming I’m not crashing that day). I don’t ask for much, do I?

 I hate missing out…
The next one is in Mid-Western Jutland though right? Right? tumbleweeds

We will need a group picture of all in attendance, preferably with you all holding a sign each with your @'s on them

Couldn’t have done this when I actually will be in the UK in November? /nm

Maybe we should do a forum meetup in ComicCon Liverpool

I’ll be there. Never been to that venue before but I can research pubs in the area. Also alternative venues if some don’t like pubs. I’m easy either way.

The nearest mainline station is Victoria. A couple other tube lines closer by.

Maybe we should work out what cons everyone is going to, see if we can arrange some more meet-ups

Bummed to be missing it, but alas that pesky ocean is in the way for me! Everyone has to have a brilliant time for those of us who can’t be there

Will try and be there!

I would love to come!!! I’m going to see the stuff of legend on the 14th! I’m good with a pub but I think it might not be the best if a lot of people want to come, as idk if there are any pubs big enough for a properly big group of people.
Is there a way to make sure I find out further details when they’re decided? Like, is there a way to watch this post, or can I just ask you to tag me when there’s more info?
Can’t wait!!!

I think set this to ‘watching’ will do.

It’s a shame I can’t go tho…

I would absolutely love to see ‘The Stuff of Legend Live’ and be involved in the meet-up, but sadly getting down to London just isn’t feesable for me right now.

Cries in Geordie

I’m also still traumatised from the last time I went to London.

The ComicCon at the Birmingham NEC usually happens around my birthday every year, but was cancelled in 2022 cause of the actors strike. My family knew I was desperate to see London so we decided to use that trip as a replacement.

For some reason, my mother decided we should walk everywhere and not use the Tube. This was problematic when the main place I wanted to visit was Camden… and the holiday let was round the back of Stratford High Street :skull: - I had blisters on my feet for months afterwards, was horrific!

Also walked to Canary Wharf the first day I was there, because “haha, Torchwood HQ go brrr” and discovered that being there during a really hot day was essentially like being inside an oven covered in mirrors. Also discovered that I suffer from vertigo when I looked up at One Canada Square and nearly spewed… though that might have something with the rancid Jaffa Cake cocktail I was necking at the nearby Alchemist.

Sorry, that turned into quite the tangent, didn’t it? :joy:

I’ll absolutely be there

I should be there but I’ll have my 15 year old in tow (as well as two other friends).

We’re at the 2.30 performance. I think it’s supposed to be 90 minutes so allowing for preamble and post-amble then I reckon 4.30 would be a good time to rendezvous.

What time is the evening performance again?

Coming from Camden to the earlier Saturday performance so easy to stay before or after for a meet up

The Saturday evening performance is 19:30

So 16:30 could work!

Just need a show of hands who can make it then, and to figure out where to host it.

I’ll look to see if I can add Events/RSVP to the forum…

A poll maybe so we can get the number of attendees.

I’ve added this as an event - if you’re going, please scroll to the top of this topic and click “Going”. Let me know if you’re going!

Then we can work out numbers.

This is for Saturday at 16:30. We can maybe do something else for Sunday too if there is interest!

I’ll be with you in spirit.

Because, you know. This little cold and dead corner of Europe is always too far away from all cool events :frowning:

But I hope those of you who can make it will have an awesome time!

I’ll be there on the Sunday, so will say hi to anyone if they are about then.
