June of DOOM Writing Challenge

I started talking about this in the fic topic, but there seemed to be a fair amount of interest so, introducing JUNE OF DOOM!

This is a month long writing/art challenge, run by some folks on tumblr, but we can have fun with the prompt list here too!

How does this work?

  • Write or create something based on the daily prompt! You can do as many or as few creations as you want and use the prompts as liberally as you fancy
  • You can go as intense or as light, or long or short as you want - the point is to get creating rather than follow strict rules. Please just give warnings for anything sensitive if you make something intense though <3
  • Use the alt prompts on any day instead of a main one if they call to you, or add it on - whatever really! There are no rules!
  • Let’s post our creations here every day, if you want to share! Let’s encourage each other to be creative!

Personally, I’m going to be doing this in a chill way because that’s how I like to enjoy it, but if you want to challenge yourself, go for it! I would definitely recommend starting a little in advance though.

I gotta plan around a little bit because I also want to keep doing my weekly gallifrey-episode based fic, but luckily the run of Imperiatrix to Appropriation in June has plenty of good whump scenarios :star_struck:

I’ve never participated in a writing challenge and I don’t do much writing, but this looks like it might be a fun way to challenge myself, since I have more free time now :eyes:

Just to be clear, there 4 prompts for each day right? The phrase in quotes and the three words next to it are the prompts and you can do one or more of them?

Yeah, precisely you can do one or more of them as you want, some people also like to combine days

They don’t haveeee to be suuuuuper dark but they sure could be :smiling_face_with_horns: I think I may have become a little numb to what constitutes as super dark :sweat_smile:

Just finished my first fic for the month :flexed_biceps: been in a bit of a slump lately so happy that I’ve got at least one done now! Hope everyone else who is preparing for this is having success too!

finished my first fic for this! I wrote and edited the whole thing in a day which I’m really proud of because I don’t do much writing! :tada:

This interested me but I decided to not do it because I have a lot of stuff going on already and committed to one (technically two) other things this month but I decided to do one prompt. I already have two ideas and both seem great. One gives me room to write more for a character I love and the other is a unique take on the prompt. This is probably going to lead to burnout if I keep doing this.

I love doing silly writing things, but I don’t think I ever participated in such a writing challenge. It does look like some dark Things to work with, which I love!

I need to actually get started on this :sob: I do have all the ones I definitely want to do planned out but these last couple of days I was working on something else which is finished now, so hopefully I can actually get started on something tomorrow!
