It's Spooktober! đŸ‘»

So I enjoyed this! I recommend it if you enjoy those creepy small towns you find in Stephen King books!

Felt like stepping back in time and experiencing a childhood I never had!

Plus it did one of my favourite Halloween tropes: kids being turned into their Halloween costumes! That was my favourite episodes of Fairly Odd parents! One year I went as Wallace from Wallace and Gromit, so I dunno what that would’ve looked like.

So yeah, deffo one to add to your lists for the spooky badge!

Sad to see that there’s so few books set at Halloween!

Oh wonderful doctor of oz counts for this!! I’ve been going through that for the 13 marathon. Might end up finishing it quicker than expected for this as well :)

Why has Gridlock got the ‘Spooky’ trope? Looking at the list of TV stories with the trope is making me question what people think ‘spooky’ means. Daleks in Manhattan is there too and The Hungry Earth. Are they spooky? Or just ‘scary’ (in parts).

A lot of stories are tagged ‘spooky’ that aren’t spooky at all!

(Perhaps because it’s quite a vague tag?)

Spooky stories are stories that go “boo!”

Gridlock doesn’t go “boo!”

If it helps, I just watched and read The Chase a week and a half ago.

It does have a very nice lick of existential dread, though.

I finished Scratchman. Absolutely brilliant piece of Doctor Who media. I loved this book from start to finish.

following Delta’s lead and doing a relisten of The Labyrinth of Buda Castle for Spooktober!

JULIA: Don’t play the fool with me!

DOCTOR: Why not? It’s worked well for the past 700 years.

I adore 4 and Romana! I really need to watch more of their tv episodes, I’ve seen so few of them!

Finally got around to listening to Deathworld because of this badge. It was so good! Really interesting concept and some lovely character beats. Only 7 more spooky stories to go (I’m taking my time - playing the long game [1])

  1. not to be confused with the series 1 episode ↩

I’m halfway through!

I didn’t want to blow it by getting the badge easily (as I could’ve done by continuing to read Tales of Terror) — trying to mix it up a bit and enjoy spooky stories from different corners of the Whoniverse. May as well make the most of Spooktober!

More people need to do this I general.

I’ve got 11% of that playlist, well chuffed with that considering I haven’t read any books or listened to many audios yet. Working my way through Eleven’s run which includes a far few and got a few audios that I’m listening to. Absolutely love the badges, reminds me of old school xbox achievements.

I absolutely adore Deathworld. One of my absolute favourite Big Finish releases. Love the artwork on it too.

My original intention was to do a bunch of easy ones first, then do a few less easy ones at the end, since I know myself and how much time I tend to have available well enough to know I probably wouldn’t complete it otherwise.

But I got rather carried away with the DWA comics, even doing several that didn’t count for Spooktober.

I still might do more Halloween stuff, even though I have the badge. I was definitely planning on rewatching that K9 episode, for example
