Y’ello! I’m Molly, I hail from Stockholm, Sweden, and I’m a Japanese translator of video games and manga, ROM hacker, and armchair video game historian.[1] My girlfriend, @Elvira, started showing me new-school Doctor Who as a bonding exercise a month or two ago, and we’ve been blazing through it – we’re up to series 10! – but it’s only when I, a podcast and radio enthusiast, dove into the Big Finish audio dramas that I noticed a need to track what I was listening to. I now realize said audio dramas had been sorely missing in my life – I’ve listened to a few podcast dramas, but the professionally produced deal is another thing, innit!?
I look forward to joining in with the audio club at some point! I’ve particularly gotten attached to the Eighth Doctor – meaning I’m now one of those annoying people who’ll reply “Oh, my favorite doctor? You wouldn’t know him; he’s audio-exclusive…”
Qualifications that are usually relevant in the communities in which I move, but they sure ain’t here. ↩︎
Woohoo! Welcome to the forums and our wonderful corner of the internet! A wise decision of you and your girlfriend to join!
Plenty of Big Finish and Eight fans here, so you’re in good company!
Oh, and as a fellow Scandinavian from your favourite eastern neighbour, I am obliged to also wish you a warm welcome from the Scandi Superclub. We are sort of forum royalty here, and everyone thinks we are very funny and very clever
Oh, hey! An opportunity to personally thank you for this website! I used to work as a web developer, so I’m supremely impressed with and thankful for your work on Tardis Guide – it’s enough of a challenge to model a real-world situation as varied as the Doctor Who universe as a database, with all the exceptions for every single case, let alone making it look and feel so darn good. Tardis Guide’s sets and links have also helped me write some scripts to automatically tag my audio dramas and audiobooks, so you’ve saved me personally a ton of work!
Oh, hey – aren’t you the one who’s been thworping through time and space one adventure at a time? I recognize you from the reviews! Extra excited to know that those reviews came from a Finn – my family’s from there.
Ahh tell me about it, we have had loads of conversations here on how to categorise stuff, what to do about the weirdness of the spin-offs, etc! So I can’t take all the credit, it’s thanks to lots of great people here too
Welcome! Great to have you here and I love Eight too but HOW did you put a footnote in your post and how did I not know that was somethin you could do!!
Would you believe that Scherzo was the first episode of the audio dramas I chose to listen to? It’s not the best point to jump in, as it quite emphatically turns out.
