A thought about getting an alert when a new release with a character you tracking is released…
What about spoilers? Say someone didn’t know about the reveal of Sutekh on Legend of Ruby Sunday. They aren’t watching it at midnight and get an alert saying Sutekh is in the episode. Cue angry emoji.
That’s a good point. But we do have spoiler characters, right? Just don’t notify when a someone is a spoiler character.
I think having such a notification for a favorite writer could also be really nice
If I’m honest, I rarely ever look at the charatet tracker - I find it to be quite overwhelming and knowing that I’m literally never going to complete 99% of the characters makes me sad. I have occassionally glanced at it out of intrigue, but I visit it infrequently. The ideas given here about showing only a few characters in select media makes me feel like I’d use it more though.
And I’m not so sure about a notification for a story with a new character, I think that could get overwhelming quickly too. Imagine if you got one for every dalek story! But I appreciate that I may be in the minority here. I think for me, ability to track like one or two characters would be the thing I would be most likely to use.

Although this would mean making sure spoiler characters were marked as such on the site and we had an agreement on what counted as a spoiler character.
I like just scrolling down the character tracker, so as long as there is a ‘show all’ to get something like we have now, I’m good.
For Big Finish it’s maybe an idea that characters that appear in the cast list on their site aren’t counted as spoilers?
Is there a way, when you’ve chosen your selection and its over a few pages, that each new page starts at the top?
I’m not sure what you mean, do you mean when you select eg “page 2” then it scrolls to the top of the list?
Yes. At the moment if you select ‘page 2’ from the bottom of page 1, it goes to the bottom of page 2. If you do it from the top, it goes to the top.
Yes it’s a bit buggy at the moment, it’s supposed to scroll. I can confirm the new site design will scroll

I would like the tracker feature on the character page. Like if I am at the Page for Rose I would like to see how much I have left until I have completed everything.

I was just looking at the page and see the Quarks. How have I only completed 25% of Quark stories! (Big Finish have a LOT to answer for…)
I look at the character tracker all the time, but an alternate, more condensed view, without all the images would be helpful. Choosing which ones to track also sounds interesting.
Also, it might just be me, but I’d like the companions in order of “first appeared” rather than alphabetised by first name.
I’m only really keeping track at the moment of episodes of the tv series I haven’t watched, because there’s way too much Big Finish I haven’t listened to.
I’d find it helpful if i could permanently deselect things hard to track down such as some of the old virgin books.
I find it helpful to look for some stories i wanna look into. Awesome feature.
