How do the AI summaries work?

Quick question, and it might’ve already been asked, but how do the AI summaries work? Like, what/who chooses which threads get an AI summary button and how often do they update? Cause the first two Gallifrey Audio Club Extras have them, but Sirens of Time doesn’t. And on those two Gallifrey ones, it only summarizes the posts up to October 20. Just kinda curious on this.

Sirens of Time does have a Summarize button; it just doesn’t say summarise by it, probably due to space.

Where is it then? I’m not finding the little four-pointed star anywhere.

Update: I found it. It appeared at the bottom this time and then also after the first post.

Any topic can have a summary, but currently only Patrons (and staff) can trigger the creation of a summary (because AI tasks cost money).

The ones you’re seeing are ones someone else has already created.

The reason one was out of date is because it’s created on the day you click it, and then needs to be updated later if necessary.

Hope that all makes sense!

Guess it probably turned up because I clicked it, then.

Though that’s patrons and staff members, or I wouldn’t have been able to…
