I was looking at the book sections last night. Sorting some bookmarks for what I was going to read etc. The section just seems unwieldy with the amount of series and how they are labelled. I think a guide would be a good idea. Just a list of series and what follows what etc. I’m only really interested in the mainline books from Target, Virgin and BBC.
I know I’m not adding much, but it’s just my two pence.
It’s a bummer the BBC and other companies never thought that there would be a day when someone would like to collect all the Doctor Who stuff on one website and arrange them into neat sets. If they had, they would’ve made the categorisation much easier from the onset!
The DWM comics were about the then current Doctor’s right? If so, then I think that’d be a good idea to group them, because it’s also an easy way to not only split them per Doctor but also per ‘era’ of the comics.
You can sort by Doctor or just follow the collections’ releases. They covered almost all of DWM publication anyways. I leave you all to think about the TV Comics comics tho. Good luck!
The only problem with sorting by Doctor is that there are some releases with previous Doctors that don’t match with the current publication at the time. There is a Ninth Doctor comic (the Time Lord Victorious tie-in) during Thirteenth’s era for example. I consider it a standalone release. You can agroup it with the other Ninth Doctor comics.
The real problem is the story arc leading up to Ground Zero. There is a huuuuuuuuge story arc featuring every Doctor up to Seven that builds up the Doctor’s fight against the Threshold that culminates into Ground Zero and if you sort by Doctor you’re scattering these releases.
It works with the exception of the run where they had classic Doctors appearing in one off adventures with some leading up to a 7th Doctor epic called Ground Zero.
