So, I’m celebrating my upcoming graduation this week, and I need some ideas for a crazy Doctor Who challenge that I could do. I think I want to try to do at least one story for every Doctor, and I want the formats to be varied (TV, Novels, Comics, Short Stories, Audio, etc.) It might also be fun to do some crazy activities. Think “pub crawl,” but Doctor Who! Now, I just need to figure out how and what stories to do. I want this challenge to take no more than 24 hours, and I think I am planning to do it on Thursday.
Some things I need to figure out:
Given that I do not have Disney+, how might I incorporate the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Doctors into my game?
How much time, on average, should each activity take?
How much time should I spend with a Doctor to consider him/her “done”?
Is it possible for a nerdy square such as myself to utilize Doctor Who to PARTY HARD?
To be clear, the plan is to watch/read/whatever 1 story per Doctor, with the goal of consuming up to 17 (including Fugitive and War) complete stories within 24 hours? Is there a game beyond just watching a lot of Doctor Who?
Do you want to do new stories, or ones you already know and like?
When it comes to the “crazy activities”, are you doing these on your own, or with friends? What’s the scope of the activities you had in mind? Is this on the order of “take a shot every time a companion asks the doctor a question” or “draw a picture of a scene/character from the story while you watch/listen to it” or is it more like “try to watch/read each story in the place it’s set/filmed”? Do you want the same kind of challenge each time, or 17 unique ones, or something separate from the individual stories, like a quiz or something?
Assuming 17 doctors: half an hour each will take 8 and a half hours, and 45 minutes each will take nearly 13 hours, so probably somewhere in between (naturally, an hour each would take 17 hours, which is inadvisable). If you want to stick to short stories, minisodes, and the like, you could probably get it much shorter.
