Hello sweetie

hi all! my name is hallie - i’m a 22-year-old living in cambridge, uk. i’m a filmmaker, juggler, archer, and being a whovian is just another hobby i’ve added to the pile over the years.

my partner introduced me to doctor who a couple of years back and i’ve been cripplingly hooked ever since. we watched all of nuwho from nov 2022 to nov 2023, my favourite doctor being the twelfth, and my favourite episodes being ‘mummy on the orient express’ and ‘the waters of mars’.

since then we have been watching classic who, but rather slowly - we’re only two seasons into hartnell thus far. but i’m loving it! my favourite serials we’ve seen so far have been ‘the sensorites’ (i know, a rare choice i think), and ‘the romans’, but due to our slow pace at getting through classic who because of work and whatnot, however, i’ve decided to embark on the long long quest of reading / listening to all of the extended media using the eyespider chronology. so if you’re interested in seeing a fairly fresh whovian exploring all of these stories for the first time then i’ll be around doing that!

Welcome to the forum! The classics is fun and this site is a good way to keep track of it.

We have a TV Club where we watch Classic and the new Who. That can be a good place to start here at the forum!

I am so jealous that you get to watch so much classic Doctor Who for the first time!

Love hearing about fans who’ve discovered the show in the last few years and have gotten obsessed. It’s a great perspective to have.

Same here! Let’s welcome another 12th lover! :confetti_ball:

Anyway, let me tell you about this brilliant audio… (pats the sofa and puts on Scherzo)

I can’t help but to notice that you don’t capitalize your initial letters. That would drive @deltaandthebannermen mad!

Well hello there, love the River Song reference in your post title :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Excellent choices! Those are both brilliant episodes.

Look forward to hearing more about your new experience to Classic Who!

Welcome to the forum @hallieday - great to have you here and to find another fan of The Sensorites (not a perfect story but definitely underrated in my opinion).

And don’t listen to people telling you I don’t like uncapitalised sentences…I’ll just quietly seethe in the corner (it’s the primary school teacher in me - I spend my day reminding 8 year olds to use them and then you all grow up and apparently decide they’re not necessary… :disappointed:)

I’d never be able to leave sentences uncapitalized. The moment I saw it, I’d fix it. Same goes for any spelling mistakes or typos.

(And I’ve noticed myself having typed the wrong words or made typos more in recent times, too, which bugs me to no end…)

thank you all for the very warm welcome!

i’m so excited to be getting stuck in! it’s a bit overwhelming with there being so. many. stories. but it basically means i’m set for life and i can’t wait

:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

aha! sorry to have struck such a nerve with you all :smirk: i think i just prefer the way it looks in conversational settings - although i do use capitals and all the correct grammar in my reviews and such!

Don’t worry about it, it’s very much a me thing.

I sit here responding to text messages on my phone with everything being grammatically correct and capitalized and taking twice as long to type messages out to people…

I do that too! I can’t even use ‘u’ instead of ‘you’.

I hope you find us a friendly and inclusive place @hallieday - regardless of capital letters  .

Same here.

But while it may be a capital offense, I’ll overlook it… :stuck_out_tongue:

Welcome! In actual messaging I also tend not to use any capitals, but the point is we’re happy to have you here! I also love The Sensorites

Well, well, we have a new arrival!

Welcome to our lovely little (but ever-growing) community!

I hope you’ll find your place and voice among us, as we love to have Whovians from all corners of the world and from all kinds of backgrounds here!

Feel free to hop onto any thread (or create your own) to join the conversation.

(And I hope you’re not scared away by the fact that the three Scandinavians on this forum, including myself, like to go on occasional tangents about the superiority of our region and culture; it’s all just a bit of fun. Unless you ask @deltaandthebannermen).
