Hello everyone,
My name is James - I was recently shown this whole thing by a friend of mine after our debrief of the story and the engine. I’m a big fan of a lot of different media, Doctor Who being my favourite and as an avid Letterboxd user this is like the best thing ever for me. My favourite episode is Waters of Mars, my favourite Doctor is probably whichever I’m watching in the moment and the best TARDIS interior is 11s first one.
Welcome to the forum!
Great to meet you!
May I ask who showed you the site?
Welcome! Great to have you here! I hope you enjoy your Time!
Always nice seeing another Person who uses Letterboxd actively! Big plus in my Books.
If I may ask..
Have you seen the Classic Series yet, or plan to?
Just a pal of mine, not gonna share his name cause idk if he’d want that or anything. Don’t know his username on here either. It was a very last minute thing as it was like 4am and we were starting to lose it at that point. Sorry for not being much help.
Welcome! I hope you have lots of fun here!
I have seen a bit of Classic, mainly Tom Baker stories and a bit of Pertwee as he was my Dad’s favourite, oh and the TV movie (if we count that as classic). I really do want to watch more but trying to watch 8 part stories is a lot of motivation that I can barely muster. I did watch Robot in its entirety which I loved, so if you have any recommendations, that’d be great.
I can assure you most Serials are rarely 8 or 8+ Parts, those are mainly in the 60s (which is an Era I love, but rarely one I can recommend to somebody early on). I do say the best you can do if you wanna watch more of the Classic series, it’s to just pick a Companion and/or a Doctor that interests you! I do recommend McCoy since his Stories are more ‘pacey’ and closer to the Revival.
In terms of Issues of the longer Serials, I do recommend giving it a try to watch some of those Episodes separately and not in one go! That can sometimes really help (especially with 6 or 6+ Parters!)
Oh but if you ever want to tip your Toes into the 60s: Mind Robber is a good call since it’s much more ‘pacey’ than your regular 60s Serial.
Hope you enjoy that journey whenever and if you go for it!

Welcome! I’m glad your friend showed you the site
Hello there and welcome
Hello and welcome to the forum! “The Waters of Mars” is also my favorite episode; you have excellent taste!
Hello and Welcome to the forum! Hope you have a super time here with all of us! As for Classic Who, I would echo the advice to not attempt to binge watch, as the stories are really not conducive to that approach. I tend to do two episodes per sitting on rewatches.
Right, I think that might’ve been my problem then. I’ll give it a shot!
