Journeying through time and space back to Earth, the TARDIS lands the Doctor and his companions Vicki, Ian & Barbara in the twelfth century, where they soon find themselves embroiled in the intrigue of Richard the Lionheart’s court. But the King - there to lead the Crusades against the Saracens - has his diplomatic plans thrown into disarray, when Barbara is kidnapped by them and Ian knighted to rescue her. Can the travellers reach the safety of the TARDIS again, or will the Doctor and Vicki be executed for treason by the envious Earl of Leicester…
