Guest Stars Who Stole the Show!

In my opinion, Alan Cumming was marvellous in his role as King James in The Witchfinders.

Can you think of any guest actors who did great jobs, on screen, or audio?

That’s an excellent example, Nyder is still the gold standard henchman in Doctor Who.

Flux is basically filled to the brim with these, particular shoutouts to Craige Els as Karvanista and Rochenda Sandall as Azure (seriously, even with Swarm pitched as the big bad for most of Flux she’s a showstealer) but you’ve consistently got a memorable guest cast throughout.

Going Classic, I would be shocked if Damaris Hayman as Miss Hawthorne from The Dæmons wasn’t near the top of most people’s lists. She’s absolutely iconic.

Carmen Munroe playing Fariah in The Enemy of the World is an earlier standout, the casting in Classic Who wasn’t especially diverse (I think you might be able to count the number of black women across 26 years on one hand…) and gosh just think, this is the kind of talent they were depriving themselves of! She makes every scene count and her final line is one of my favourite moments in the whole story, the story with two Patrick Troughtons!

Yes, he is! You might even say that he is the best Doctor :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Speaking of Flux, Kevin McNally is one of the best things to come out of Flux! All hail Eustacius Jericho!

Well, you might. I definitely won’t… :eyes:

Might be a cheat since she is the main role in that episode. But I would say that Sally Sparrow stole the show!

Seconded, I absolutely loved Kevin McNally as Professor Eustacius Jericho!
He was one of the best parts of the latter half of Flux :+1:

Same. I’ve rewatched his final scene many times. Why do I do it to myself.

Kevin McNally as Professor Jericho, Carey Mulligan and don’t know if she counts but (unpopular opinion) Maisie Williams.

David Troughton in the Curse of Peladon
Patrick Troughton in the Three Doctors
Jenna Coleman in Asylum of the Daleks if that counts
I’m also a sucker for Luke Rattigan in the Sontaran Strategem

Patrick stole the show in Five and Two Doctors as well.

And Richard Hurndall, Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker in Five Doctors as well.

And speaking of The Two Doctors, John Stratton and Jacqueline Pearce!
