Hmm. Perhaps I should stop that Duolingo streak…

Oh no! Risk predicts the future!

So there are only two I don’t really know well enough, so not as bad as I thought now that I’ve thoroughly looked at the list. So I’m doing a preference revealer based on the question “which of these two deserved to lose their respective category less?”

Now that’s just downright mean coming from a wannabe Scandinavian :face_with_steam_from_nose::pleading_face::wink:

I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.

At least you have a Danish character in Who.

There are no Finns in it!

I always think it’s really so incredibly easy to just say things like this but whenever people do it sweeps away conveniently a lot of legitimate grievances and criticisms people have.

With an episode that’s actually quite well liked, and seems to have done quite well, to focus on a minority of people who didn’t like it and dismiss it as “hate” and “a lot of it is recency bias” is incredibly handwavey. And because from where I’m standing it is actually quite well liked and has done fairly well, I don’t really understand or compute it as being “a lot of the hate”. I can only read as “people who dislike it” and as I’m one of them I can most definitely tell you that it really isn’t recency bias.

I don’t dislike it because it’s the most recent episode, I dislike it because I think it’s a mess.

I think that you are right and hate was too strong of a word. But I don’t believe that it will be on the bottom of the list of Moffats episodes in a couple of years.

But it isn’t now is it?

It might have gone early from the Elimination Game but that’s not a fair appraisal of general consensus when people readily admit to just wanting to kill things.

Seems the elimination games are very gladiatorial in just wanting to see bloodshed!

I agree. I also dislike it because I think it’s one of Moffat’s absolute weakest scripts.

Why on earth are people going for these guys? No love in your hearts, you lot…

Two fellow Joy to the World haters finally! I felt like the only one on Christmas day :sob: I usually love Christmas who and Moffat who and generally I never dislike many episodes but… Both RTD2 Christmas eps have been flops for me and I really didn’t click with either it’s a shame tbh. Felt the advertising for JTTW explained basically the whole plot, and there was false advertising for how much Joy would be in the story imo.

The more I think about Joy to the World the more I think my rating might drop. I was actually quite frustrated during the whole Anita bit. I think I was probably just caught up in enjoying a Christmas story. I don’t think its a mess at all though, just probably not as good as I initially thought.
