I’ll be backup vocals then
I half expected the one with the polar bear to say, “Helsinki, Finland”, because a lot of people seem to believe we actually have polar bears roaming on our streets - but I was happy to see that it was “North Pole” instead.
Oh, those were the times! I’m sure you miss the swinging 20s!
The three most important places in the world!
And Stockholm is at its finest during the grey, dark and rainy winter days when it’s 0°C
Yes, it is!!!
Oh no. It’s getting hot again. 25°C through the night. I can’t make it without AC. I miss autumn up north. Like, we don’t have spring and autumn for long in Xi’an but at least we have them. They have summer, summer, and summer in Guangzhou and then some sort of autumn with flowers all flowering everywhere. Oh how I miss home. Gallifrey, our childhood, our home. Sky burning orange and leaves silv…
Wait. That’s probably somewhere else
The orange sky sounds warm… But Time Lords have lower body temperature than humans, right? So it should be colder on Gallifrey? I remember the TARDIS’s always a bit chilly.
Based entirely on their fashion choices (layers! Heavy fabrics!) I’d say Gallifrey gets pretty cold. The colour grading might make one assume it’s hot (same sort of tone as deserts get) but we never actually see anything to support that.
actually Timelords dress like that cause they’re the rich upper class and they’re showing off that they can afford AC /j
I just saw on the German Amazon website that some Doctor Who DVDs are slightly discounted because of Prime Day.
As a stand-out: Doctor Who: Der Vierte Doktor - Shada (Mediabook Edition, DVD & Blu-ray Combo) LTD. even by 36% from 61,99 to 39,97
Not bad at all, I was looking at them, but I already have my British ones back home! The only benefit would be that I don’t have to get my parents to send them here.
I have seen some of them cheaper in Saturn/MediaMarkt though?
Hoping none of our members are in the path of the the hurricane about to hit Florida and if you are, stay safe.
Hearing that the Wicked movie tickets are selling like hot cakes. People laughed at me when I said Wicked will be the highest grossing film of the year, but I think how well the tickets are selling demonstrates exactly what I have been saying all along. There’s always been a huge demand for a Wicked movie, and this one has such a stellar cast that people will flock to cinemas to see it.
Is it still in two parts? I remember that being something said initially but I’ve seen no hint of it in the trailer.
I’m a huge Oz fan and have seen the stage show but, oddly, it didn’t quite chime for me. I will see this and I do think Ariana Grande is great casting for Glinda (if anyone has seen her in Sam & Cat you might understand why I think so).
Yeah, still in two parts. The first part is confirmed to end the same as where the stage show finishes before the interval, at the Defying Gravity bit.
Oh I love Wicked. It was the first live theatre I saw (on my birthday in 2013) and I thought it was brilliant. I’ve listened to the soundtrack hundreds of times.
Definitely something I want to see in the cinema.
Not sure how I feel about it being in two parts. Hopefully it means nothing is cut and it’s really fleshed out. But I just hope they don’t ruin it by adding unnecessary stuff like they have in some of the live action Disney movies.
Same here. I saw it on a school trip at Secondary and loved it. We learned the dance routine to One Short Day at Pineapple Dance Studios as part of the school break, and it was a lot of fun, although I was a hopeless dancer.
I’ve heard they’re adding stuff in from the book to pad it out, so sounds promising so far.
I’ve always meant to read the book but have heard that the musical is quite different from it.
Having read the book, but only having watched clips of the songs from the musical and listened to the soundtrack repeatedly, I actually get the impression the musical is better than the book…
I thought He Kills Me, He Kills Me Not has one review but when I clicked “Review” there’s nothing
@shauny Maybe you could take a look…
