The Tony nominations were announced this morning. I’m hyped that Maybe Happy Ending received 10 nominations (tied with two other shows for most nominated show), because it was incredible when I saw it. I don’t read most reviews or nomination predictions from critics or entertainment industry publications, but most of the nominations align with what was predicted. The only unexpected nomination was Romeo and Juliet for best revival of a play because the critics didn’t like it (although I did when I saw it) and it’s rare for a show to be nominated for best musical/play/revival of a musical/revival of a play without receiving any other nominations.
