Looking at this List again, yeah I quite liked S19.
Not too big on Time-Flight, but admittedly I only watched it once, maybe I should give it another shoot someday..
The same goes for Four to Doomsday, although I REALLY like its Concept.
The other I’d argue from great to amazing.
Black Orchid is really just fun, I kinda don’t get why it’s not talked much often, I mean it’s far from being the best Classic Two-Parter, but it’s fun. I enjoy it!
Earthshock is a classic, even if I find it not to be the Highlight of this Season, like it’s excellent, but the second-best of the Davison Era or best of that Season like a lot would say? Nahh.
The Visitation is super underrated! I really liked this one. ALSO DEATH TO THE SONIC SCREWDRIVER <3
Castrovalva is such a fascinating one, I love seeing 5 have an Identity Crisis and its ambitious Ideas of the World of Castrovalva.
And Kinda is just the best out of the bunch. Bold, interesting, Tegan-centric, Adric is trying his best but falling miserably, the Mara is just top-notch, what’s not to love?
Voted for Kinda, Castrovalva and the Visitation here to keep the Selection small. An Excellent Season, honestly.

My favourite 3 (the order is mutable) but I can easily rewatch any of them, yes even Time-Flight.

If I’m not expressing love for Black Orchid, you can probably assume I’ve secretly been replaced by a Zygon, or possibly a Rutan.

One of my favorite seasons, I like every one of these, including Time-Flight! Voted for Earthshock, Kinda, and Castrovalva, three of my all-time favorites, but I could easily have put The Visitation, which is fantastic, I’ve always loved the change of pace and historical aspect of Black Orchid, and Four To Doomsday is not a total classic but it is still very underrated.

Funnily enough, I think my favourite episode is Black Orchid.
It’s not good, exactly, but it’s the only story this season where the characters aren’t at each other’s throats.
But even past that, I love how much it subverts expectations. The whole song and dance where an ambiguous authority figure interrogates the doctor’s identity is basically avoided entirely because the Doctor just tells them. He just shows them his Time Machine. It’s incredible that so few episodes do that.
But critically, I think The Visitation is probably the most well made.
