I Am The Doctor. No contest. It’s an epic track that I listen to every now and then just because I like it.

Is the Shepherd’s Boy considered a “Doctor Theme”?

Gotta hand it to them, this piece of music is absolutely great.

So joyous and optimistic.

This thread is also a wonderful opportunity for me to share this:

I consider it one with how it’s used in series 10 after Heaven’s Sent.

And sorry again 13 fans I love her and her theme too, I just had a huge brain fart when making the poll :frowning:

I love all of them but nothing beats the melancholy I get from The Sheperd’s Boy

If we count Shepherd’s Boy then that’s the best.

If we don’t “I am the Doctor” or 13´s theme are both Bangers.

As much as I respect Murray Gold’s music, I’m bit tired of it.

My personal favourites:

Late 4th/5th/early 6th Doctor title sequence - turns out I like synthesizer music, and Peter Howell’s theme goes way harder than it’s supposed to.

The Watcher’s theme from Logopolis - as I said, I love the electronic music, and there’s something about this theme, especially it being in the final episode of Tom Baker’s run. Such a wonderful sendoff.

The soundtrack from UNIT: Dominion - now that’s an audiodrama, but still worth mentioning. While Murray Gold is good, his soundtrack does get pretty repetitive and some melodies do sound too similar. This masterpiece of an audio features a lot of music tracks each very different from another, either it being a mysterious piano, eerie ambience or battle music. And I’m telling you, its soundtrack by Martin Johnson can rival Murray Gold’s in sheer epicness.

The soundtrack of No Man’s Land - look, I love audiodramas, ok? Even though this story is set during WW1, the soundtrack feels anachronistic, and thus boosting the feeling that something is very very wrong here up to eleven. It’s like the movie “All Quiet on the Western Front” sometimes had techno soundtrack that worked for the atmosphere, but here it boosts the atmosphere of loneliness and paranoia GRADUALLY.

The soundtrack of Enemy of the Daleks - soundtrack by Steve Foxon, and it goes WAY TOO HARD. First of all, this audio feels like those 1990s action movies everyone watched as a kid, and the music is a part of it. Because this audio has amazing Rock’n’Roll soundtrack that will definitely stay in your mind on repeat for a long time. Actually, lemme drop a soundcloud link to it - it’s too damn good: Stream Enemy of the Daleks - Music Suite (2009) by Steve Foxon | Listen online for free on SoundCloud

The soundtrack of Fanfare for the Common Men - this audio is set in the alternate reality where The Beatles never became popular. And the soundtrack by Howard Carter feels extremely authentic to the era. Not only it has just musical tracks, it has actual songs written just for this audio, which is just brilliant. I was happy for him coming back but idk bar a few tracks it didn’t feel like Murray Gold to me in S1 weirdly!

Oh no I totally feel you, I respect Golds work a lot, he did some cracking ones for Series 1-10, that said bringing him back for more than just a 60th is such a mistake really. I do like Gold, but we already know basically his style and sadly none of his newer Soundtrack does feel all that memorable beside a few Themes. I wish the Show could have gone with somebody new scoring for it, because I don’t think having so many of the 2005 Crew working on it is a good Idea at all (and I genuinely do think that the Revival needs more Variety with its people behind the Scores, too much of is too defined by just one man for the Majority of it, who did marvelous but really doesn’t have to do the revived Show for all Eternity).

Again with all Respect to Gold, but I am ready for somebody new in the Role for the Show :sob:
