Just finished it. Yeah, I know why he looked awful but my daughter said he looked like he was homeless. The only thing I didn’t like was the new house. It just didn’t seem right to see them in a different home. Rest of it was great.
felt disappointed by gavin and stacey and doctor who this year, WILTY was excellent though - love rustie lee. also, big fat quiz of the year was good except they really didn’t try with accessibility for chris and having richard the terf there was infuriating.
What disappointed you about Gavin and Stacey? I thought it was a rather perfect wrap up of the entire series (we’ve been watching one episode a night in the run up to Christmas Day and it really did have an excellent sense of continuity).
i felt there wasn’t as many laughs in this one, it dragged on too long for me imo. ruth & james said it would end in a way where no more can be made, but to me it felt like we could have dozens more after that ending. i was expecting perhaps a montage like 20 minute segments of the years as they aged perhaps, but to focus 95% of it on a moment we knew wouldn’t actually happen? not sure.
I have never seen an episode of Gavin & Stacey. And Outnumbered I think I’ve only seen a couple. Nor have I seen Death in Paradise or the hospital one (was it call the midwife?) so this Christmas I didn’t watch much “Christmas TV”.
Wallace and Gromit was great though, as was Doctor Who
Wallace And Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl was easily the best of Christmas TV. In fact, I would say it was also one of the greatest movies of the year. I’m torn between which was the better film between that and Wicked Part One.
Every other piece of Christmas TV apart from Doctor Who, Bullseye, The 1% Club and Would I Lie To You fell a bit flat IMO. Outnumbered was disappointing, and Wheel Of Fortune was okay. You Bet is decent and not as bad as people make out.
