This book is not good. At all. Sorry, Grant, but Mel wins out.

I don’t think this book is great for Grant because a lot of it focuses, at first, on Angela. A better Grant story is his second book Killing Ground.

What is everyone’s favorite (or highest rated) Evelyn audio? I rated 100 BC, Pirates, and Jubilee as five stars, but 100 BC took over Pirates as my favorite.

My favorite story with Evelyn in it would probably be A Death in the Family, but a Sixth/Evelyn is probably Arrangements for War or The Marian Conspiracy. There is quite a lot of stories from Evelyn I could call favorites tho.

TMC probably had the biggest shift of opinion for me out of all the audios I’ve listened to. On first impression, I thought it was terribly boring. On second listen, I thought it was fantastic. If I listened to it again, I wouldn’t be surprised if it became a 5/5 story (right now it’s a 4/5)
The part that has stood out to me the most every time is when Six has his aromantic/asexual dialogue. I thought that was so incredible at the time and made me love him even more.

The thing I like the most in The Marian Conspiracy (besides it being a great first showing for Evelyn and constructing a great dynamic with Sixth) is the relationship the Doctor builds with Mary. It’s all very human, extremely flawed, and yet both he and the story have, to a degree, compassion for her character. Not only in the circumstances of the story, but also in the context of we already knowing how it ends for her.
Her last scenes as she wonders where the Doctor is and if he too abandoned her is weirdly touching for me.
