Favourite 2005+ Doctor?

Me? Read? Less likely than you’d think.

Gotta be 12. Why? Well I think it’s the peak of the revived Show in many ways, not to dismiss any other Actor’s Tenure of the Show of course, but personally for me there is just so much that just works with this Era. Especially with the revived Show, I think my personal Enjoyment with Era and Doctor go hand in hand often. Capaldi is just superb in the Role and there is a lot that I simply like about his Characterization and his Acting Choices in the Role. He is probably closely followed by Whittaker, probably for me.

As for the others, I think the closet for a revived Incarnation that I really like would be 11. Smith is superb and when he’s good, boi he’s great.

I do like Eccelston a lot in his televised Run, but he does rank overall a bit lower for me. Glad regardless to see how much Love he has gotten over the Years, even if I was sadly never that high on his Doctor.

Gatwa is a hard one to pin down for me, he is a great Energy but so far I am genuinely unsure where I would place him and where my Thoughts are with him. Hopefully with his second Season in the Role there is more for me to articulate my Thoughts proper.

Can’t say much on War/Fugitive. Hurt and Martin are superb, but my Experience with their Doctors outside the Show are limited, and their Run in the Show itself is also fairly limiting as well.

Not too big on 14 and not too big on 10, even if I prefer him a lot. Nothing against Tennant, great Guy, great Actor and I am really glad he has his Fans, but there are just some Bits which I really didn’t like personally. He plays his Part very well and there are some excellent Stories in his Tenure, but I am not too big on RTD’s Who Tenure in general and especially not on his (so far at least, who knows how many Seasons Gatwa will end up making) “main” Doctor.

I do think every of the Actors and their creative Team brought something to the Role and to the Character. While I may not like some Decisions, I do have a lot of Respect for what they were going for (yes, even with somebody like 10, who is far from a favorite of mine).
It’s always interesting to see who does the best in Terms of Numbers, especially considering how much some Opinions can be quite different in the inner Fan Circle than compared to the General Public.

Twelve is my first and my favourite, but Eleven is great and Matt Smith is a fantastic actor.

12 is my favorite Doctor. 12 > 11 > 10 > 15 > 13 > 9. 10 and 15 are almost interchangeable. I need more time with 15 to solidify my ranking.

10, followed closely by 9 and 12 (I’m always switching the order of 9 and 12 depending on my mood). It’s funny, because when he was first introduced I hated 12. I was eleven at the time and very used to the Doctor being all “everyone is important :)” and very whimsical. And, to be fully transparent, I was sort of Going Through It at that point in my life, and I used the show as a coping mechanism a lot. So the Doctor suddenly being really grumpy, and frankly angry a lot of the time, was something I had a very hard time adapting to. Looking back on it years later, I still have a lot of issues with season 8, but I really love 12. I really like his relationship with Clara in hindsight, especially in season 9. Mostly, I like that he is a hater who also loves humanity and the universe.
