I would like for the next Doctor to be played by a total unknown tbh. My acting teacher hasn’t professionally acted in years, but she would be fabulous as the Doctor.

I don’t know many British actors off the top of my head. Abigail Thorn? A trans woman as The Doctor would be awesome.

My go to answer has pretty much always been Olivia Coleman but I don’t think that would really work with the show’s current direction.

Natasha Negovanlis has been my deliberately controversial pick for a while (to the point where I’m not even sure if she’s still acting)
T’Nia Miller feels almost too mainstream/route one a choice, but she’d be good
Saoirse-Monica Jackson could be fun, as could Kirby Howell-Baptiste, or Sophie Okonedo
Ambika Mod is a name I saw being heavily rumored, and I haven’t seen her in anything, but I also kind of like when I don’t know of an actor before they become the Doctor, so I’ll throw her name in too
Of course, in light of the Billie Piper news, since we’re doing this now, I wouldn’t object to Jenna Coleman, Manip Gill, or even Archie Punjabi

I envisioned in my own interpretation of The Doctor, with his own series, his own companions, etc, he’d be 100% played by Anthony Howell lol.
He just has such a good voice to deliver agonizingly good scripts. Though I think he’s mainly a voice actor…that wouldn’t stop me though lol
