Everything Changes - A Torchwood Thread

Gwen seems to get possessed a lot in TW audios

I’ve completed every single Torchwood Big Finish audio…and now I don’t know what to do with myself

Out of all of them though, my favourite main range is probably Tube Strike (though Disco is an extremely close second).
My least favourite is probably Smashed or Fortitude (just found both a bit dull), but I suppose they can’t all be bangers.

Considering audios from all the spin-offs though, my favourite is Torchwood One: Nerves, and my least favourite is TSC Love Rat.

Kind of excited for Rictus eventhough zygons never interested me all that much.

But I have found that I really struggle with imagining some DW audios in comparison to TW ones. And I partially suspect it’s because you can usually see where the character is on the audio covers for TW, but for DW, the covers have a case of floating-head syndrome, and lots of useless neon lights that look pretty but don’t help me with imagining anything. So it’s a bit difficult to just enjoy DW audios like I do with TW.

Same bar this weeks! Feels so weird right? I love the range but this year is concerning with the bi monthlies and the lack of boxsets so far. Maybe like the 9/13da’s we’ll get a different bi monthly torchwood range? soho? idk!

I’m a bit on the pessimistic side and I don’t think we’re going to be getting anything new for a while… Especially with all these shiny new ranges coming up for DW.

Like TSC S8, I Hate Mondays and Ascension releasing so close together…or maybe I’m overestimating how expensive the boxsets are lol

Go through them all in timeline order? That’s my plan for if I ever manage to catch up with releases.

I kind of did that with all the TW1 content lol, but absolutely everything? I’d drive myself mad

God, Slow Decay is so so good

Genuinely think something like this is what was missing from Season 1, it does so much for Owen’s character

This is the next Torchwood book I’m due to read so I may bump it up the reading list. I have committed to reading the Benny Gods arc next (but I may well need a palette cleanser partway through).

The Twilight Streets is great. It’s always surprising to me how good the Torchwood EU is, when the TV stories are mostly nothing special. (For the record, I like Torchwood on TV, but there’s a lot of mediocre episodes amongst the great ones like Adam and Countrycide)

I’ve been really enjoying a deep dive into Torchwood audios

I’m on Torchwood One: Before the fall at the moment.

Oooh I love TW one so much!

Yesterday I read the three titan comics volumes…… They were… comics that I read for sure.

My favourite series :triumph::smiling_face_with_three_hearts:. Boxset 5 is my favourite, but as you’re going through them in release order, that’ll take a while. I hope you enjoy them =)

Okay, glad it gets better, I actually thought episodes one and two were good from a character perspective (love Yvonne and Ianto) but pretty “meh” from the story.

I’ve only finished the first two TW1 boxsets, but I thought that the second and third stories of Machines were brilliant.

True, I mainly enjoy the first one for being a glimpse into the daily TW1 life in the Tower, but the other boxsets become more experimental, and character-focused.

Blind Summit is one of my comfort audios to listen to

Of the five sets, I think for me it goes

I Hate Mondays > Latter Days > Machines > Nightmares > Before The Fall

That said, Latter Days has potentially my favourite story of the lot in it (The Rockery), and I really want to relisten to machines.

Also reminder that we’ve got a TW1 thead!
