This may be a long shot, but I bet the Doctor regenerates in this one!

My prediciton is that, despite the colourisation, Pat’s hair will still be in black-and-white…

My insane predictihope is that Sean Pertwee will appear as the Doctor in a short scene at the end, and a mini-season featuring the Third Doctor and The Fugitive Doctor will be announced. :eyes:

Again I ask, why am I not running this whole shebang???:sunglasses:

I was reading the DWM preview of this and there is a picture of the alien base with tanks and ships around it. I don’t remember it at all from the original so I wonder if there are some new effects/inserts.

Well, there’s the sdded regeneration sequence. Every new added scene means that they’ve been forced to cut even more from the original edit to make it fit. Makes me slightly worried.

Predictions for how they have spaced out key events, based on my fuzzy memory of watching the original >1 week ago (spoilers for the original episode):

The court martial takes place before the 10 minute mark
They cut out most of the bits in WWI Germany and American Civil War, the Romans are COMPLETELY gone

The Doctor and Zoe arrive at the War Lords’ base before the 30 minute mark

Jamie and the resistance arrive at the base and get captured before the 50 minute mark, the War Lord arrives 5-10 minutes after that
Then following bits are similarly cut down until the sequence of pockets of the resistance taking down the soldiers takes place over some VERY SILLY MUSIC
The sequence from the Time Lords slowing down time to the end of the trial/the Doctor regenerating will be the last 10-15 minutes of the episode

Despite all this making fun of the cuts, I am going into this edit expecting to enjoy it… if not only for the colourisation (which still looks incredible, like the Daleks)

I’d be remiss not to shamelessly plug my own review of the original episode over at the Guide: Review of The War Games by The_StarByte · TARDIS Guide

So excited for this! My expectation remains that the 90 minute cut will be a bit much and I’ll probably like it less than the full version, but that it won’t lose so much that it ruins the story or anything and it may still become the main way that I rewatch it. And very interested to see how well they pull off the new regeneration. Have to wait a couple extra hours for my wife to get home before I can watch it unfortunately, but excited that she’s watching with me!

Watching it live now and very impressed by the colourisation!

Watching it now and it feels so rushed.
New Soundtrack also feels unnecessary, looks really great in colour though…

If only they’d just coloured it!

Yeah the pacing here is really off, the colourisation is incredible though

With the delays between UK and US releases, there’s little chance of it being out that soon. I’m in a similar boat though, Gally won’t make my wallet happy.

WHY DID THEY EDIT THAT SCENE OF JAMIE IN!!! That’s supposed to be at the end!

Why are they cutting out all the scenes of Two and Jaime snogging? :disappointed:

The Master Vainglorious!?!?

This feels less poorly edited than The Daleks in Colour…

…but still very poorly edited.

They got rid of the interrogation scene??? And Carstairs threatening Zoe???

Well we now know what stance Benjamin Cook has on War Chief = Master debate :rofl:
