Episode Discussion: The Story & the Engine

Finally! Now THAT was a Doctor Who for contemporary times. A story that not only understands the essence of the show but also brings a culture & traditon hitherto unrepresented to this wonderful world. A vibrant exciting adventure with real characters, one that obviously comes from a writer proud of their heritage. Its taken someone new to make Ncuti feel completely the Doctor to me. Even the references to the shows own history, something I usually roll my eyes at, fitted in with the plot.

This will go down as one of the best episodes of Doctor Who for me. A shame it sits amidst a quagmire of mostly formulaic & badly written episodes. Whatever happens with the future of the show please someone in a position of power take note of stories like this & forget sequels to the glory days of RTD & relying on people that have been around for decades. Doctor Who must not stagnate, keep moving forward & enchanting us with new writers that obvously have great stories to tell within the world of Doctor Who.
