I did like the episode but after the ending I’m %100 convinced RTD is stuck in the past…

good to hear, I’m loving this one as well.

I’m stepping away from chat about the episode now. It’s been … fun? Interesting? But I don’t want to be any more of a downer than I have been. I hope some people found enjoyment in that finale. I wish I could’ve. Alas. See you all in other threads!

I’m glad you all had crying moments. My first fresh regen was with 11 and though it’s creatively interesting the very quick change between him and twelve stopped any possible tears dead because it was so sudden. Lol

It’s because Conrad can only imagine women straightening their hair

I’m not even joking I think it was a comment on societal standards of hair

Well that was a mess.

If it wasn’t also a regeneration episode then it might have gone better but as is there’s way too many dangling plot threads left in it’s wake.

Like sure the next Doctor will probably pick up these plot threads, but it won’t feel right. It feels like a disservice to Gatwa that he gets the hints for Susan’s return but not the actual payoff. Same with the boss/pantheon of gods, Ruby’s on going shifting reality arc, and whatever the hell the deal with Rouge is.

Also Belinda’s arc was entirely misjudged. The independent woman morphs into ā€˜a mom’ with no agency or say in the matter and loses all her personality in the process. Like I expected that shit from Moffat not RTD. Maybe if you hadn’t established her as a single woman with housemates and centered all her convo on her parents and work, hinting that Poppy was her daughter all along and this was
a time loop or something… idk.

Rose vanishing from the reality because of Conrad…I had to pause the scene

But it was very funny in how it was handled. The hair.

That was good stuff!

I’m more confused than anything, partially because I’ve not even gotten to this part of the show. But I will say, Billie shouldn’t be 16. We already had her come back from Pete’s World in S4, cameo in The End of Time AND show up as the Moment in The Day of the Doctor. Future cameos are fine if they make sense but… no.

Oh yeah I mean the message that conservatives like Conrad can’t picture them is good commentary. I feel bad she was sidelined tho but it was a good reveal.

I don’t think you’ll be the only one saying goodbye to Doctor Who Ncuti.

I don’t mind the casting. As long as she’s very distinct from Rose, different accent, etc. I’ll miss 15’s potential. I’ll miss Belinda…
As I said, I don’t mind the casting…

But I do mind how RTD intends it.
