OH MY GIDDY AUNT SUSAN AND THE RANI ARE BACK! I AM SCREAMING RN
But by the way, do you guys think Mrs. Flood is the Rani’s Time War incarnation (or that at least, how she looked when it broke out)?

I doubt we’ll get any mention of the time war whatsoever, but my assumption is that she isn’t - she seems a bit too lighthearted for the time war to me (unless, as you say, she was like that before the war broke out, and somehow survived as the same incarnation the whole way through)
Lighthearted is fairly atypical for the Rani, being practical, no-nonsense, and a scientist used to being obeyed. I’m assuming it’s a quirk of that particular regeneration.
I feel like I didn’t like the episode as much as most people. I did do a double fist pump in the air when Susan showed up, which definitely confused my mother who has only seen nuwho. So excited to see the Rani, but why has Mrs. Flood been able to break the fourth wall??? I was also sort of hoping we’d left bi-generation behind.. Not a terrible episode, but I was sort of underwhelmed. I understand why a lot of people liked it though, just not my fav.
shocking indeed…
what if bigeneration is leading us to The Valeyard
OMG its been there in front of our eyes all this time since 1963, Susan Foreman. She’s going to quad-generate!
Susan Four Men, she’s going to become The Beatles
(listening to the Interstellar Song Contest?)
John Smith and the Common Men, actually.
I can see it now: The War Rani (Coming 2030 from Big Finish Productions!)
It’s The Rani - while I certainly won’t begrudge people not liking how she treats Mrs. Flood, nor how Mrs. Flood automatically defers to her, she most likely would do precisely that.
The Rani
: How could you possibly be
The Rani? After all, you’ve just gone and gotten yourself killed.
Mrs. Flood: You’re right, ma’am, sorry. I did do that, didn’t I?
The Rani
: Quite ignominiously, at that. Come;
we have an experiment to complete.
Ooh, rankings…while it’s still too early for me to give my definitive rankings for the season, they’d tentatively look something like:
Joy to the World - 8.5/10
The Robot Revolution - 8/10
Lux - 10/10
The Well - 9.5/10
Lucky Day - 10/10
The Story & the Engine - 10/10
The Interstellar Song Contest - 10/10
Hopefully Big Finish can use The Rani again, Siobhan Redmond is great
They’ve gone from 19 to 2.
Well I guess now I think about it the episode could have been worse. Imagine if RTD had written it, he’d have had Cybermen & Daleks as contestants.
I used to be just flesh & bone.
Now I’m metal I’ve ascended to the cyber throne.
Kate O’Mara would definitely approve of The Rani’s outfit
Or even worse. What if Chris Chibnall had written it…
would have been better…
