[-1] Mission to the Unknown is an oddball, so it’s gone (though that university remake from a few years ago is really good). And The Savages is so underrated, I want it animated!

[0] The Savages Honestly, The Savages is one of the worst viewing experiences I’ve had in Doctor Who. Dreadful story.

Impossible choice really.

But the introduction of Ben and Polly, it has got to be that one.

  • Anneke Wills and Michael Craze meeting each other in the Inferno Club!
  • The massacre of the endless supply of boxes!
  • Doctor Who is required!
  • Hartnell staring down that War Machine with his jaunty hat and holding his lapels!
  • We get rid of Dodo! (Sorry Jackie Lane, I love you but Dodo only makes sense if you headcanon that she is on drugs the entire time she travels with the Doctor - got that from a podcast, can’t remember which)

It so good!

I guess I’m simply prolonging the inevitable, but good as The War Games is, it just can’t compete (for me) with the richness and subtlety of The Massacre. Moreover, Master Plan may have its weaker episodes but where it is good it is (and I mean this wholeheatedly) absolutely bloody triumphant! :grin:

This is a difficult choice because they are both very good, but The War Machines has to edge it out for me just because we still have it on telly.
