My initial instinct was to eliminate more based on a serial’s overall quality, but looking at them more as companion debuts, [-1] Robot (Harry) has been eliminated. I like the serial, but there’s so much going on there Harry practically feels like he’s in the background compared to the Fourth Doctor.

A Dalek Story for a dalek story, adore Daleks Masterplan and I think it does well with introducing Sara, that being said there are many great stories and/or great companion introductions here. I love Logopolis and I love Tegan and Nyssa, but in terms of introducing them as companions it’s kind of a weird one?? Like, Keeper of Traken is a better introduction for Nyssa and she kind of just shows up out of nowhere in this one, and Tegan barely even interacts with the Doctor throughout the whole thing. That saying though, Adric, Nyssa and Tegan work really well together here and I wish they’d carried that dynamic more through to Five’s era instead of having them argue all the time.
