Agree. The story was fine but it was the banter between the characters that elevated this one.
Im suprised this boxset hasn’t gone OOP on CD but the Halloween one has.
At least in my opnion this was significantly stronger and probably one of my favourite releases of the year!
Christmas in January?! Why the heck not!
Unholy Night:
A festive Missy solo outing that thrives on contrast; relentless Christmas cheer versus pure Time Lord malice. Michelle Gomez is magnificent, the humour is sharp, the references plentiful, and the thin plot is propped up by strong narration and a delightfully dark third-act twist involving immortal locals and a Christmas spirit-devouring cult. Light, silly, and unexpectedly spooky; best enjoyed with snow outside and a very cynical mug of something warm.
Here’s my spoilery review for those who fancy a read. Thanks!
Picked this set up yesterday and listened to It’s a Wonderful War today. I loved this story, I was tearing up all over the place. Also I just happened to finish it at 12:25pm[1]. This was a great story. And the reveal of the Shadow at the end was brilliant.
okay technically the last few seconds of 12:26, but that time is too poetic not to claim ↩︎
