Just a topic where I can share fanfics I’m writing.
Writing 13 is super fun!
I’m excited to share this story with you all…
Working on two short fics that I can’t wait to share with you all!
They’re both very different to each other…
My first ever fic is done and ready to be shared!
Expect to read it very, very soon…
The following is my first ever fanfic!
It’s essentially a ‘minisode’, and serves as a prologue to a series I’m working on.
I hope you all enjoy it (and maybe you can help me think of a name)!
THIRTEENTH DOCTOR MINISODE BY DONTBLINK
The TARDIS was zooming through that magnificent bubbling pot of times and places commonly known as the Vortex, its vintage Earth Police Box design a stark contrast with the beautiful yet frightening Vortex.
Inside the TARDIS, the Doctor was rushing about excitedly, chucking her coat onto the floor and putting on a pair of goggles.
As she slipped some battered brown gloves onto her hands, she pulled a lever on the TARDIS console, then retrieved a custard cream that had just burst out of a slot.
Munching on the biscuit, she grabbed the sides of a console panel, then yanked it off, revealing a vast amount of orangey-yellow goo.
The Doctor plunged her gloves hands into the slime, and thought long and hard about where she wanted to go.
The TARDIS made a noise that sounded very similar to a Raxicaricofallapatorian’s fingernails grating against a blackboard.
The Doctor smiled. This was good. The TARDIS had landed exactly where she wanted it to.
She ran to the doors, ready to step out into…
Nothing.
It is impossible to imagine what ‘nothing’ really looks like. It is a concept so abstract that even when you have seen it, you still do not know what you are seeing.
The Doctor had stood inside nothing many times, yet she still couldn’t describe it.
But nothing felt different this time.
Because, in the middle of nothing, stood something.
The Doctor turned around to get back into the TARDIS, but it wasn’t there.
Of course it wasn’t. There was always nothing in nothing.
So how was there something there?
The Doctor tried calling out to whatever was with her.
“Hello? Can you hear me?”
She squinted. Whatever it was, it was heading towards her. Fast.
As it came closer, the Doctor could start to make out its appearance.
The something was now standing about ten paces away from her.
The Doctor leaned in towards it and finally realised what it was.
For the first time in ages, the Doctor screamed.
Thank you for reading, please let me know what you think!
that is very, very good! you evoke the atmosphere very well
Congratulations on your first fic =)
Congrats for getting your first Fanfic done! It’s a pretty good Start, I’d argue!
Here’s the first chapter of a 73 Yards rewrite I’m working on, with the 12th Doctor and Clara replacing the 15th Doctor and Ruby.
In this chapter , not much has changed plot-wise, but I’d like to think the characters make the story seem quite different. Chapter two will contain some deviations from the episode’s plot…
Please let me know what you think once you’ve read it!
Chapter One: Rest in peace, Mad Jack.
Clara Oswald stepped out of the TARDIS and onto a grassy coastline.
She turned to look back at the blue box, which had landed just by a cliff. She was waiting on the Doctor.
As if on cue, the Time Lord stepped out. Today he was wearing a simple black hoodie and plaid trousers. His hair was being swept this way and that by the howling wind.
The Doctor sniffed the air around him.
“Wales,” he called out to Clara, who had already started exploring. “Yes, definitely Wales. The year, I’d say round about your time, 2016.”
“Lovely place,” Clara smiled as she gazed in wonder at the stunning wildlife of the coast.
“Yes, shame about the politics though,” the Doctor muttered.
“What do you mean?” asked Clara, curious to know what exactly the Doctor meant.
“Oh,” he frowned in response. “It hasn’t happened for you yet!”
“Doctor, what hasn’t happened yet? What are you not telling me?” Clara was really suspicious now.
“That’s for you to find out in 2032 when Roger Ap Gwilliam becomes Prime Minister of the UK, because I really don’t want to get into spoiler territory.” The Doctor seemed keen to change the topic, as he had started walking away…
…only to step on something.
The Doctor bent down to see what it was he was standing on, and Clara came over to join him.
Under the Doctor’s black shoe was a strange circular thing, a ring made of string and sticks and animal skulls. Placed inside this ring were scraps of paper, letters and messages.
“What’s this then?” Clara crouched down to pick up a bit of paper.
“Doctor, look! ‘Rest in peace Mad Jack’,” she read aloud. “This must be a memorial or something. ‘I miss you.’ That’s so sad.”
Clara looked up and the Doctor was gone.
Something stood atop a hill.
It stood next to a crooked black tree.
It stood dressed in black, with its long white hair brushing about wildly.
It stood there, staring at Clara, and… shrugging?
That’s a fantastic Start! I like it! Not sure what I can give as Notes, maybe write a few more sentences to linger on the Doctor being gone before jumping to the Part with the Woman? But really that’s not necessary needed!
That’s also my main critique. It feels a bit sudden. I love the rest though
