So, Stranded, as a Eighth Doctor boxset, is pretty heavily linked to Torchwood and I think it needs a discussion page. Feel free to discuss how it can be viewed from a Torchwood lens, post-Stranded stuff that can be slotted in or informs the characters with a new interpretation, and just general Torchwood things that you can’t talk about in a Doctor Who discussion, whether the audio in some areas is an accurate interpretation of what happened.
Couple starter discussion points (that someone’s bound to bring up eventually) include how Stranded links to the mental state of Andy following on from Aliens and God Among Us, when you think he was sneaking off to see Norton (for Torchwood Soho), whether The Doctor knew about the Cardiff Flood and, the obvious one, who was in charge when Tania joined Torchwood.
Basically, if a non-Torchwood audio has a Torchwood character in it, here’s the place to talk how that affects their Torchwood stuff, focusing on Stranded for now, though, seeing as Dark Gallifrey is still a spoiler hazard arguably.

As the Torchwood Timeline gal, I’ve got answers for this!!!
Goodbye Piccadilly has Andy brought from 2018, In Parasite, Andy says he’s ‘sort of’ working for Torchwood, I personally put this in early-mid 2021, so just post-Stranded, but I could see it being mid-stranded. Andy mentions he was send by Jack following the events of GAU. At the very least it has to be before Autumn 2021. in Ashenden Andy mentions he was pulled back in time before seeing the new Bond film, which can only be No Time To Die.
What’s interesting to me, is that At Her Majesty’s Pleasure has to be in the middle of Stranded. With Andy remembering the old timeline from Stranded, I guess it must not have happened in that timeline, and with Andy not mentioning she got out, I guess Yvonne stayed in prison there.

The audio adaptation of RTD’s Damaged Goods includes a Torchwood reference, with one of the characters working for the Institute. This is a change from the book to remove it from its original arc, originally the character worked for The Brotherhood of Immanent Flesh(whatever that is).

Yeah, At Her Majesty’s Pleasure is an interesting one. How much effort do you think the others put into remembering the first timeline, other than the usual culprits? Andy could have still done it again and just remembered the same events, like with Liv and the food. Although she didn’t need Andy to get out, maybe she escaped without him anyway? (That would explain the Yvonne Escape Timeline honestly)
I always thought the first few Soho sets happened during Stranded, because him changing the past wouldn’t change things, would it? Real question, where’s he finding the time to run a non-profit?

Does that make Torchwood indirectly responsible for the death in a future Audio Adaptation of So Vile A Sin? (Yes, I’m taking the Big Finish arc removal seriously. I also think that the robot in Echoes of Extinction sounded like Tyler Steele on purpose just because I can. And cause the timeline lines up.)

Do you think any of the Among Us cast are aware of any of the events of Stranded? Did Andy fill them in?

The only story with have with him interacting with TW3 after Stranded is At Her Majesty’s Pleasure, so we really just don’t know what his relationship is like with them in the Among Us era
I’d guess they probably are, but if future stories show Andy more seperate from the TSC team (which I could absolutely see), possibly not

Surely he had to do a report? I assume that report was mostly done in the original timeline and might’ve not been finished. Definitely wasn’t finished, actually.
But maybe he did at least one text saying “sorry can’t talk, Zooming The Doctor later” and presumably whoever got it didn’t believe him, or had no context.
Sidenote, Torchwood 3 might not even be fully aware of The Doctor in their current form, except for Mr Colchester and Yvonne, who’s read reports and saw him once

In 2020 TW3 is completely broken up, and he doesn’t have any contact with them, so it really comes down to if he ended up working closely with TW3 after the events of Among Us, or not, which we really don’t know yet, the only post Among Us story with Andy we’ve got so far is Dog Hop Thirst Trap, which is a bit of a mess continuity-wise

Oh, what happens there? Is it as bad as Thirst Trap? (As in how did it mess continuity up, in case I sound disingenuous.)

Whoops, I got Dog Hop and Thirst Trap mixed up, yeah I meant Thirst Trap
Dog Hop is pre-AAU, post-MD

I haven’t even listened to AAU (yet) and Thirst Trap still bewildered me. And that’s on top of Rhys’ characterisation!

Honestly, it should be less confusing if you’ve not listened to AAU
The TLDR is:
- The head of TW3 is mentioned to be a woman, setting this at earliest in mid AAU
- Rhys mentions having two kids, putting this post Misty Eyes
- In Misty Eyes, Gwen and Rhys have moved to Iceland, specifically wanting to be away from Cardiff, and both getting jobs there
- In Thirst Trap, Rhys is in Cardiff, and acting like it’s normal for him to be there???

Could it be set well after AU? Maybe Rhys has, like, got a flat in Cardiff and splits his time between there and Iceland…
But I don’t like that very much! (Again, mostly because of Rhys characterisation though.)

I thought it was Series 2 when getting it, hoped it was The Miracle then was under the assumption that it’s between AAU and GAU. Assumed the children thing was something else. I can’t remember it well, I’ve blocked it all out because of stuff.
Is it just me or did Rhys seem like an earlier series counterpart?
