Doctor Who Websites

Just thought it’d be good to have a place people could share and discuss the wide variety of weird/interesting/niche/useful doctor who related websites (aside from this one of course!)

This thread is inspired by this website, which has recorded the air dates of the show (and reruns!) for pretty much every country Doctor Who aired in!

Well one of my favourites for finding quotes is

You can search for any word or phrase and instantly find when it was used in Classic or NuWho.

I was going to build a bit of a competitor to this, as source their transcripts from the same place I did, but Rob keeps adding new features and I don’t think I can compete  it now tells you the exact timing of the quote and shows a screenshot alongside it!

My only complaint is that the source of transcripts I used can frequently contain mistakes, which I am painstakingly going through when I get a chance and fixing them, but he has the originals which won’t have those fixes.

I feel like we should probably actually throw that place the transcripts are sourced from in here, too:

Things like PROBE, Tales of the TARDIS, and K9 are in the Extras section.

(And Star Trek’s on there, too…)

Whoseum.net is what I use to get info about upcoming, non-BF, releases. It’s not perfect, but it works for me.

yelling I was just going to tragicalhistorytour.com to recommend that as a site for pictures (it’s great!!) but school have blocked it for ‘pornography’ :smiling_face_with_tear: :smiling_face_with_tear:

https://gallifrey.sosugary.com/index.php is another great resource for pictures (not blocked on the wifi here for some reason…?)

I like therandomiser.net for picking random Doctor Who episodes

Metebelis Two Podcast’s website has a Doctor Who preference revealer which I use a lot for episode rankings

Have you seen our Randomiser?

It has some extra features, works with every story - not just TV - and even lets you filter it by episodes you’ve seen, rated by the community, and more!

I worked pretty hard on it, got some more features to add too

Haven’t had need to try it yet, but it does look pretty cool. Having the option for other media is nice, though I know for me if I’m looking for something random I’ll just be looking for a TV episode/serial. The options for availability on streaming is cool too. Good work on that.

Heavily recommend checking out Nate Bumber’s tumblr page (On The Fringes of War) if you feel like taking a deep dive into DW and Faction Paradox lore. It’s fascinating stuff.

Useful website for those who buy physical media (and for the collectables section of TARDIS Guide, tho im sure the mods probably know of it already)

EDIT: Dang!!

Yeah I’ve used that site as a reference before when making sure I have the DVDs etc on our site.

It’s quite a useful site to log what you own but I find it very clunky to use. Part of the reason I added collectables to our site. But it’s a work in progress!

I’ve used Timelash for those random non-BF releases. Clunky, but great for older media.

Here’s a website that allows you to customize your own Dalek. It’s not very advanced but it’s fun

Haha that’s cool. I once made a similar tool for a football-related website I developed, you could design kits by choosing different patterns and combinations of colours.

It also used jQuery and SVG to do it.

Brings back memories!

Edit: to be clear, this was a paid job, I have zero interest in football!!

Anyone who’s attempting to make any Big Finish fan covers/Art using stills from the show/Other things idk should be using The Black Archive

Unfortunately that site will no longer be updated :frowning:

We need someone with the connections they had to carry on the good work. I could even host a section of our site to contain the images…
