Doctor Who Target Novelisations

I love the Aztecs! (Even though, ironically, it’s quite inaccurate)

Thanks everyone, I did not know that the original show was supposed to be educational for kids! Wow!

Yeah, the Head of Drama who commisioned the show was adamant: “No bug-eyed monsters!” Then the second serial, which was aired simply because it was ready to film before anything else, featured the Daleks, which were insanely successful.

Wow, that is SO interesting!

I can kind of imagine it, DW was supposed to originally travel through time for “historical jaunts”…

But then it all changed… Thankfully!

This is why it’s fascinating to follow the progression and development of Doctor Who from the very beginning, just to see how the Doctor and the overall tone and direction of the series evolve over time.

Hi all, just finished “Keys of Marinus”, and (shocker) I loved it! (They’re all good!).

I thought the pyramid and the city of Millennium were really fun!

Tonight I’ll start “The Aztecs”!

Looking forward to it!

My favourite First Doctor story, so it’s great to hear you liked the novelisation!

I may order a copy to read…

Hi all,

Just finished “The Aztecs” and really, really enjoyed it, even without the “Sci-fi” element!

Ian is becoming a serious hero and the whole team is really starting to act great together!

Tonight I’ll start “The Sensorites”… sounds interesting!

I enjoyed The Aztecs novelization. If I recall, it follows the TV story closely with only a few deviations/additions. I’ve also read The Sensorites and actually enjoyed the novelization more than the TV story.

Oh the Empire of Death novelisation is going to be good

Especially considering the comments about how the original Legend of Ruby Sunday was going to be somewhat inspired by The Raid, with the idea of the two towers (UNIT and TRIAD) being a bigger thing, genuinely so excited for this one

The interview also mentions an opening sequence with 15 and Ruby going across the universe, including locations that “will delight fans of the ‘classic’ era”, and a ‘prologue’ after chapter 2 telling a story about Susan
