Doctor Who Phrases

Or in threads 5 years old (once we’ve come that far!).

Absolutely! If you have something to contribute to an old thread, feel free to do so, because that might reignite the discussion

Personally, in my experience elsewhere, the main times people posting in really old threads causes issues are:
a) The person they are responding to is no longer in the forum.
b) They aren’t taking into account the age of the thread, such as bringing up reasons why some speculation couldn’t be true that happened in episodes that aired since the thread.
c) The person they are responding to no longer remembers/agrees with what they said.

All of those involve responding to individual comments, though, and reviving an interesting discussion is great otherwise!

(I’d love an opportunity to say I was “learning the language of <x>”, really.)

You mean like the language of ropes?

Right, but I doubt I’ll get a chance to actually say it about ropes, so it’d be nice to be able to say it about something else.

That just confuses me so much. A language is a means of communication. What even is a “vocabulary of robe”?

How exactly does robe that has been used to tie together a magical Goblin ship communicate something? :eyes:

Or alternatively, what does robe, an elongated inanimate object, have to talk about?

The language of robe

We absolutely do. As a new forum, with new people joining all the time, it’s good that people add to discussions, even if they have been quiet for a while. Can you imagine what this place was like when it was just me and @shauny arguing about who was best - River or Benny?

Is this a Danish thing? Are your ancient ships rigged with robes instead of ropes?

Either that or I’ve made a ridiculous repeated spelling mistake.

Your choice

I mean a language of rope has existed on earth. The Inca used knotted ropes called quipus as a language and record system. And archeologists are still at a loss on their meanings.
