I’ve not done a con in years but tempted to go to this! Despite living quite close to the border of Germany, the train links to the place it’s held are appalling

I will be going!! I’m probably buying my ticket soon already even though I usually like to wait closer to events, but I went last year and had an absolutely wonderful time! I wanted to go again right after, but ever since they announced Louise Jameson it really wasn’t a question any more, I am looking forward to it so so much already and it’s still eight more months, I can’t wait!!

I was lowkey considering coming but I’m a bit intimidated by the language barrier… the only german i have is middle school duolingo. but europe-based cons are much easier for me to access…

Nearly all of the panels are in English, and practically everyone in Germany speaks English well enough for basic conversation too, so that really wouldn’t be a problem!

I went to Bedford Who Con today and saw multiple actors including Louise Jameson!! I actually got a photo with her and spoke to her it was one of the most exciting things that’s ever happened to me!!

I really want to go, I’m saving up. I have a friend in Berlin I’d like to visit if I’m already going to Germany, but whether or not they join me for the con depends on how kuch they manage to save and how cheap we can get travel. It is a bit far, after all. But I’m not gonna miss out on an opportunity to meet Eight and Leela!

Btw, for those of you who have already attended in the past, how is the event English-wise? My German is quite rusty due to the lack of practice

Most of the panels are in English! I really don’t think you’ll have a problem at all. There were a few science things on satellites for example that were in German, but those were really just a very small handful of things. And pretty much everyone in Germany speaks enough English for at least a minor conversation so you wouldn’t have any problems outside of the convention either, I think
