Doctor Who And Coronation Street

There seems to be a funny trend with RTD2 of the cast of Coronation Street being cast by RTD.

So far, we have had Charlie de Melo (Imran Habeeb) in The Giggle, Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday, and now Charlie Condou (Marcus Dent): https://www.tvzoneuk.com/post/doctorwho-charliecondou-repann1 .

I give it a matter of time before they cast Peter Ash (Paul Foreman)!

Soaps have had a long association with the show.

Let’s not forget that Coronation Street has also featured the following Doctor Who actors:

Suranne Jones, Bruno Langley, Helen Worth, Gray O’Brien, Julie Hesmondhalgh, Shobna Gulati, Michelle Collins and little known actor Ian McKellen. Katherine Kelly from Class was also in it.

And most important of all, William Russell was the legendary Ted Sullivan.

Eastenders has featured June Brown, Leslie Grantham, Edna Dore, Jane How, Anna Wing, Pamela Salem, Michael Melia, Ian Reddington among others - and of course Louise Jameson and Bonnie Langford as leading characters.

(And it gave us the wonder that is Dimensions in Time!)

Hollyoaks saw Mandip Gill and Tosin Cole appear.

Emmerdale was famously where Frazer Hines became equally as famous as for his role as Jamie (to the point where work on that prevented him from appearing in The Five Doctors in more than a cameo).
