Ah, yes, the infamous The Firea ker, the 0.5% missing episode. The only part of it that remains missing to this day is the ‘m’ in the title.
I’m typing on my phone, which has a cracked screen and weird glitchy spots covering stuff up, so…
Za must not ke firea!
It’s time to finish off Unearthly with The Fire aker!
May I ask why?
You can, but it’ll take a while for me to get back to you.
I have a lot to say.
Always interested in hearing what others think about stories they’ve experienced for the first time. I wasn’t sold on Unearthly either after my first time, and I still don’t think it’s the best story ever, but I’m a bit less critical after a couple of rewatches. Granted, that’s also after having watched the rest of Classic, so I know that there are worse stories to come.
Well that gets my hopes up!
There is also better stories to come.
Phew!
Twelve character limit
Well damn, that’s a low rating.
As I start writing my review of An Unearthly Child (I think it’s going to be controversial…), I’m wondering where next to go on my journey.
Should I watch…
- The Daleks (which I’ve already seen)
- The Daleks in Colour (I’d need to buy the DVD, but haven’t seen yet)
- Marco Polo (and if so, how?)
If you are doing a marathon I would say watch Dalek as it broadcasted.
When it comes to Marco Polo I would highly recommend watching telesnaps with BBC audio with narration. William Russell do a great job with the stage directions and there are a lot of great images from set and telesnaps. The combination makes it seem like it is not missing.
Basically, what Tian said! There are loads of great telesnaps for Marco Polo, so it’s a great way to watch it together with the BBC narrated soundtrack.
When I do Marco Polo, I’m probably going to watch the 30 minute version just because it’s easiest for me to access.
When I’m done, should I mark Marco Polo as complete?
Well, you’ve completed it, haven’t you? It’s just a variation of the story, so I say it counts!
No, you absolutely must watch the full 7-part recon for it to count, and to be a real fan
I have not watched that version but I would really recommend you to watch the whole story. It is a great story and it gives Susan some great moments. But if that is the only version you have access to I guess it is better than nothing.
I am definitely going to watch the full story at some point, probably as soon as I’m able to.
