Ooooo, what’re you working on!?
It’s not been announced yet. However, what has been announced is my second Arkham Horror gamebook, The Tides of Innsmouth, which will be out next Spring.
Ah, absolutely fair
Oooo interesting, will keep an eye out!
Oh well, this is new.
It’ll be interesting to have an actual author here on the forum.
Hope you enjoy your time here @Jon_Green, I’m looking forward to reading your work.
I’ve decided my title badge will be The Spaceship Graveyard for the length of this thread…!
I’ve caught up on the first page of Night of the Kraken. Agreed that there is a massive quality jump from the last one we read. Perhaps aided by this being aimed at a slightly older audience as well? 10-13 year olds?
The kindle edition is quite convenient in that there’s hyperlinks as you choose different options taking you to the relevant page.
Night of the Kraken - Page 20
Last choice: the Doctor should stand his ground
The Doctor encounters a mysterious horseman dressed in black, who halts at a distance, keeping his face in shadow. The man raises a flintlock pistol and questions the Doctor, suspicious of the sudden appearance of the TARDIS. Despite the tension, the Doctor attempts to approach, but the rider warns him to stay back, keeping his weapon trained on him.
What do you think the Doctor should do?
- If you think the Doctor should run for cover
- If you think he should try to keep the rider talking
Yes! We can get a bad ending! Let’s do it!
Seriously though, that explains why The Spaceship Graveyard was like that if it was designed so that the Doctor would never lose!
Oh, and the choice. If the Doctor’s been standing his ground so far, it would be silly of him to run and hide now. So he keeps the guy talking (and maybe he’s shot dead, I don’t know).
This is also Capaldi’s Doctor. When did Twelve ever run?
Well if I know anything, it’s that the Doctor loves to talk.
Our trigger happy equestrian is probably just having a bad day.
He runs sometimes, but he does it like a penguin with his arse on fire.
Well I said duck for cover last time, so this time I’ll go with everyone else and say keep talking.
But now we know that we can lose I’m a lot more worried about what we choose!!
If we get the bad ending, does anyone get a badge?
That depends on what the rules for getting the badge are. You make them, you should know them
Give those who didn’t vote for the decisions that led to bad ending a ‘This is a bad idea’?
Oh, probably after we examine the timeline, just in case we’re doomed early on
I really like this. Puts more importance on each individual’s decision…!
I know. It gets more intense when we read it over two weeks and not in one hour.
And that badge has my face on it and it is the official Coldstream Badge! I like your thinking
I don’t know, do I look like I like things on that picture?
Well, you made it now, so it’s going to stick!
