Wanted a thread to just chat about the Character Options figures. I’ve had some daleks for years and over the last few months have collected quite a few more and some of the Doctors.
Today they announced an Emperor Davros figure and the Supreme Dalek and a drone Dalek from Resurrection of the Daleks to be released later this year! Very excited for those.
This set are the only ones I own right now (and the Weeping Angel that also was part of the set but that I don’t really care about enough to display). Hoping to eventually get the other four 13 figures and the other two for Yaz and maybe some others from her era. And maybe a few other favorites like 12 & Clara and 6 & Peri.
Also still hoping they give Dan a figure at some point. Is he the only NuWho companion to not have one?
I bought so many of these back in the early days - I have two boxes full. But once they started going into three figure box sets and far too many Daleks and different versions of the TARDIS coupled with being more expensive and not in as many shops, I gave up.
I would do nothing but display it. I would never take my eyes off it. I wouldn’t even blink! I don’t know how you’re brave enough to have it tucked away somewhere, as it might whisk you away to the 1760s in the blink of an eye!
I think it is meant to be the one that crawls out of Professor Eustacius Jericho’s TV in Village of the Angels “The Angel has the TARDIS!”
That bit with “whatever holds the image of an Angels is an Angel” was a fantastic idea introduced in the Angels’ second outing, a really good way to bring the Angels forward and not just make it a poor repeat of Blink.
You’re the owner of the world-renowned TARDIS Guide site, surely you can afford to become a Doctor Who figure collector?
But in all seriousness, the Character Options figures are great, and this looks like a good pack if you want to start collecting, or just want some figures!
I made this mistake of getting obsessed a few months back. It started with wanting a Dark Eyes Eighth Doctor I believe and it has only grown since then…
