Bradley Walsh's Million Pound Shot

Has anyone heard anything about what this Million Pound Shot ‘quiz event’ is airing a week tomorrow: https://www.tvzoneuk.com/post/bradleywalsh-millionpoundshot-channel4 ?

Apparently it was filmed three weeks ago and there’s rumblings that it may be a fake-out TV Show in a similar vein to the 3By3 episode of Inside Number 9.

Did anyone on here somehow happen to be in the audience for it?

My prediction is that it will be played straight like a normal quiz show but there will be a twist akin to the Gregg Wallace human meat mockumentary. It will be a quiz show where there’s so many rounds, and when a player is eliminated they are up for getting shot for a cash prize. Then in the final, the remaining player is given a choice of shooting a beloved family member or friend to win a million pounds, they take the shot and win. But it’s all played as completely normal, nobody gets upset, and it’s just seen as regular quiz show jeopardy. I reckon it might end up being a dark social commentary on shows that rely on lies and deception, and how far we may push them if money is at stake. Something Black Mirror-esque and like Vengeance On Varos, showing humanity’s darkest impulses.

I agree that there is something a bit ‘off’ about this. I’ve only seen the trailer and I immediately thought a) this doesn’t feel like a normal Channel 4 and b) Bradley even says there’s a twist so there’s bound to be more to this. If this had been on ITV, I’d have more convinced that it was a genuine quiz.

I saw a video the other day about a French game show that involved contestants giving someone electric shocks in order to win money. The contestants were genuine but everything else, including the guy being shocked, was fake. It was all an experiment to see how far people would go to win money. Maybe this will end up being something similar.

It’s going to be interesting what this is all about next week.

That would make sense. Maybe something like the contestants have to shoot a guy with a paint gun to win money, and it’s hypothetically ‘If this gun was loaded with bullets, would you shoot a guy to win money’?

A couple of pictures that have been released:

I’m definitely thinking it’s a stunt. As others have mentioned, the set is very basic, and I’m sure one of the contestants in the first image looks like Susan Twist.

Also: look at Bradley Walsh’s face in the second picture. It’s not his usual cheeky chappie expression when he’s hosting a quiz show. He has quite a stern/anxious expression, which makes me think something has gone wrong.

People forget that Bradley Walsh is also an actor as well as a presenter, so he could definitely sell it (us Doctor Who fans obviously know how fantastic of an actor he is too).
