Book Recommendation - Spooky/Scary DW Books

While I’ve heard the EDAs are really good, apparently they’re quite difficult to get a hold of.

Hope you can find them though!

Also, I know you don’t really watch the TV series, but there are novel adaptations of TV stories available.

Some of them are really good, so if you’d be interested in those, I can recommend some scary stories.

Hi DontBlink,

I would really appreciate that!

I really like Novel Adaptations generally, so that’d be cool!

Thank you.

Hi DontBlink,

Looks like quite a few EDAs can be downloaded from www.archive.org.

Hmmmm… Hope it’s legal, etc. But I think it should be(???)

Most things on archive.org are safe to use.

Depends what you mean by Novel Adaptations.

There are novels adapting episodes, and episodes adapting novels.

Either way, I can give you recs.

I’m making my way through the EDAs at the moment, and being a completionist I’m reading all of them. There are definitely skippable ones though, and I’m sure more knowledgable people than me have lists of the essential books in the series. If you do decide to read them, you can join me in my EDAs adventure thread

I’m seconding various EDAs recommendations people have made (though I myself have not read anywhere near all of them!): Vampire Science was for a while my favourite vampire book just in general and Eater of Wasps has some delightful body horror.

I haven’t read it in a while, but Nothing O’clock (Eleven and Amy) is a short story I remember being nice and creepy. Finally whilst Winner Takes All (Nine and Rose) isn’t necessarily scary, the plot is definitely dark and fairly chilling

This isn’t just books, but might be of interest if you ever think of exploring beyond print.
