I’ll be honest, I wasn’t a big fan of this book. I don’t particularly care for the Slitheen so I don’t normally enjoy their stories. June was an interesting character though, and I thought the twist of the Doctor intervening and stopping what he thought was an alien threat only to learn they were law enforcement officers at the end was kinda funny. I also liked how the aliens tied into the local legends. And while there are other stories where aliens were in Earths past setting up gladiator games with the humans for entertainment, I did like how this story executed it.

I found this to be really good. A fun take on the Slitheen and a great temporary companion in a fun setting. It feels like a book that does something completely different with the Slitheen while still keeping their core character, and that is something that I like.
