I feel like I have rated this lower than everybody else. While not thinking that it is bad, I still felt that it fell into the trap that most Dalek stories fall into, where motivation gets too small of a place in the story. I did not expect Stella to die that early in the story, and while I did like the shock factor of it, I also felt like the book became a little worse after that. I gave it a 3/5, and it is not a book that I will re-read any time soon.

While I am fond of this book, I agree with @Tian‘S comments. She was probably the best side character in the book, but also without the one person who saw the Doctor as a possible ally we have a situation like Midnight again where the Doctor is trying to help a group of people who don’t trust him. I thought the book was interesting and I was interested by some of the explanations of the Daleks.

A good one in my books.

Really didn’t see the appeal of this. It’s such a basic Dalek story.
