Trailer for Snare:
We are SO back!! Honestly I can’t even tell through their voices that it’s been 20 years since they were on TV
I just finished listening to all of the 9DAs in preparation for next months new release! Overall I found it great just to get to experience so much more of Nine. Almost 36 hours of stories which is miles above his televised, and while there are some great stories, at the end of the day I really didn’t feel like they delved into his character all that much at all. He felt pretty much the same story-to-story for me, and there are only a handful of adventures that scratch beneath the surface at all, which is a shame and something that I hope is rectified in his stories with Rose. Maybe the writers won’t feel so turned off about changing anything about him now that they’re in the thick of his era and it’s kind of anything goes by that point.
Here are my rankings for his 9DAs thus far. Pretty much everything in S and A I can say I loved, the Bs are fun, honestly some of the most fun, but maybe a bit lacking in other departments, Cs are also mostly fun although some of them I found a bit boring at times or a bit convoluted, and then Ds were ones I was really checking out of or I just think are generally a bit weak.
Would love to see other tier lists to compare !
Ooh could you link? I’ll try and do this later!!
Is the Buried Threats boxset worth picking up if I’ve never listened/read a Benny story before? It’s 50% off right now as part of Bigfinishmas but I’ll probably hold off if it’s not a good intro to Benny.
You would be able to comprehend it absolutely fine because it’s not at all continuity heavy but I don’t quite think it’s a showcase of what makes Benny special either. I was a little underwhelmed by that whole box tbh
It’s worth picking up. It’s definitely not his best set but it’s perfectly servicable. This was also my first intro to Benny and I followed it just fine. You don’t need any prior knowledge really.
Can someone jog my memory please:
The 13th Doctor adventures have got the ongoing story of ‘the Tourist’ which feels very ‘Bad Wolf’,
Does the ninth Doctor and rose have an ongoing thing like that? Or is it just “something weird is going on with the Powell Estate maybe”?
This one, if anything. Each story so far has been pretty standalone, just with the common location setting.
I’ve noticed that the three stories to date have seen the Estate targeted by powerful creatures. Wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a story later on which reveals that the Doctor or Rose—or maybe Bad Wolf?—are responsible. The mention of the Void in “Dare You” makes me wonder…
Missed DWM 426 while it was in stores. Now have to buy it on backlog online. Is the Hidden Depths volume worth the purchase of the magazine for the discount code?
I was maybe going to get CDNM 2 also, but completing the 9DA’s are a higher priority atm.
New trailer for Cloud Eight just dropped.
& on the old Bluesky
Looking forward to relistening to Station to Station sometime in the next two months, to familiarise myself with Saffron and the villain.
(It’s definitely the Grimminy Grue, right?)
Dan Starkey is in the cast as a character called Mr Grim!
I must do the same. I guess that it is not essential to the story but better to do it anyway.
I don’t think I could do the whole Bowie album but I’ll make sure to catch up before listening to this one.
