I would point out that only McGann is confirmed, not Fisher as well (unless there’s a development I’ve missed. All the preview says that he’s travelling with her at the point this story takes place so he may have dropped her off somewhere.
Or there’s shenanigans afoot.

Charley is… ok…
After seeing her live for The Stuff of Legend I really wanted to like her, but more often than not I find her quite irritatingly posh.
I’m definitely more of a Lucie bleedin’ Miller fan than Charlotte Pollard.

I really like Charley as well, but I’m a little bit resistant to this idea we need to revisit that period of the Eighth Doctor’s life quite so much when we already have 2 ongoing strands for him.
Wouldn’t necessarily be averse to a reunion with Charley for a story or two during or after his travels with Liv and Helen or during the Time War, I just wish we’d continued this idea of McGann’s Doctor having forward momentum.
So it isn’t Charley I’m against, it’s the chronological nature of the Eighth Doctor’s run being all higgledy piggledy like the other Doctors now

I like her. But 8 seems to be stuck in a rut with the same companions. I thought the introduction of Audacity would be a fresh start, but no here comes Charley again.

This is the perfect time for me to bring up my probably nonsense theory 
I still think they’re doing 3 different 8 sets across 3 different distinct eras of his life simultaneously for a reason, specifically that it’s building up to a multi-Doctor event with all 3 iterations of 8
I can’t wait to be disappointed when this never ever happens!

Totally agree. I really dislike how they’ve moved everything to box-sets without doing arcs. I keep repeating myself but it really is getting to me now. For example, most War Master sets are self contained mini-arcs lasting just one set. I love this, but the other Master ranges (asides from Master!) are just aimless stories, and its maybe why I don’t like them as much.
I started my BF journey 10 years ago this year with Doom Coalition, and getting to follow 8 as he develops and goes through these new adventures as been incredible, so for it to just stop after Stranded it’s been really disappointing. I wonder if we could chip in and get this question asked in Vortex??
Agree, I really don’t like Charley, but her dynamic with Audacity is really quite lovely.

Personally, as I joined BF relatively later than some, I saw so much praise for “old” BF, and I still do. I think accessibility to it, and nostalgia are the main reasons for this, because I much prefer “modern” BF. With that being said, I went into the Charley, Lucie and Dark Eyes eras expecting it to be mind-blowingly good due to the reputation it has, and was disappointed (mostly).

I’m definitely the same, I was so excited to try Dark Eyes but it took me 2 tries to even get into it, and I really thought it overall wasn’t that good - no idea why it had such a great reputation.
I definitely prefer modern BF stories.
