Yeah - they arrived with little fanfare and are priced rather, shall we say, hopefully.
Yes. I was once told that Elisabeth Sladen would refuse to sign the cover of the audio drama she was in for BBV because she was never paid. How true I don’t know but I have seen other stuff that isn’t encouraging.
Was looking at the store earlier and they… definitely made some choices with the covers
From those covers to that weird clip of Colin and Sophie, to the full frontal male nudity in Zygon (yes, really), I think BBV was trying to sell sex.
So weird, as people were clamouring for Doctor Who content and would have bought anything. Why try to tart it up?!
Ah and I just saw their tagline at the top of the page.
Is this where the idea for Torchwood came about?
it is interesting how older audiences always mean sex. I mean it could also mean scary, complex, or something like that. But no it has to be sex. Same with the beginning of Torchwood and the first NA book.
Yeah, some of them are… interesting, to say the least
Yep, Its like a 14 year olds version of an older audience show.
Oh my sweet summer child
Just wait till we get to Ben Aaronovitch’s Transit (10th VNA)
I don’t know if i want to read that now
Don’t you think those of us that have endured Zygon deserved some sort of badge?
I was thinking maybe a badge for seeing all BBV movies. It could be the new K9!
I dont know if I love or hate this.
Is BBV and Realtime the same thing or different stuff?
I’ll admit I was kinda hoping for a Liz Shaw related PROBE badge… though given I don’t actually have any of them to watch that the moment, that was more of a vague future thing.
Reeltime is a different company. They mainly do/did the Mythmaker interviews.
Thing is, I’d want the badge but I’m not sure I can bring myself to buy When to Die.
I’ll never support Bill Baggs and Company, but I do appreciate the content they made. Airzone, Zero Imperative, and the Stranger may not be Hollywood, but, as a Colin fan, Bill was one of the few filmmakers/directors who actually gave Colin a substantial role in their productions post-DW. I loooove those films.
On the topic of sex, the scene he did with Sophie is well-known, as is the fanservice with him and Nicola in Airzone, but no one talks about the shower scene in Airzone lol. I haven’t watched the non-Colin BBV conent (other than Do You Have a License to Save this Planet with Sylvester), so I can’t speak on if this is a regular thing he does amongst his cast, but sometimes I wonder if Bill Baggs had a thing for Colin. The only time Colin’s been shirtless in his filmography is when he was filming with BBV.
(And don’t forget to add the audios!)
Just as a quick note, a lot of BBV series seem to have tags for each individual episode, which probably isn’t necessary.
