Allison getting possessed is very soothing ![]()

Not so much Big Finish, but I can happily doze off to sleep listening to the audiobook versions of Target novelisations. I rather enjoy having Anneke Wills or Katy Manning read me a bedtime story. I’m so familiar with the stories I don’t mind falling asleep to them.
Yeah, please, do not think that this thread is only for Big Finish Audio Dramas, other Audio media such as audiobooks and podcasts (looking at you Redacted…) are totally welcomed here!
Oh I forgot about this thread haha, look at me repeating myself ![]()
Ooh so glad there’s a thread!
Recently I’ve been using the Short Trips, or The Omega Factor audiobook novelisation of the series!
I’ve been on the first part for about three weeks, Louise Jameson’s voice is so soothing and relaxing.
Quite anxious today, so trying to chill with an audiobook.
Listening to Dæmons in Levenshulme from The Adventures After.
Miss Hawthorne, 13th Doctor and Yaz, AND Missy, oh my!
The issue is, I really want to know where this story goes, so I imagine I’ll be staying up to finish it.
Then I’ll stick on Omega Factor and be out like a light.
- Very surprised not to see “Fall”, from Circular Time. Thirty minutes of chillness.
- Tales from the Vault” and “Mastermind”, prompted by @uss-genderprise’s post about the Restricted Items Archive. There’s something about Daphne Ashbrook’s casual performance—and, in the latter, Geoffrey Beevers’s.
- Lisa Bowerman straight-up has a relaxing voice, and the story is wonderfully low-key, so I’ll give a shout to “The World Tree”.
- “I Am The Master”. See above, just for Geoffrey Beevers.
- “Patience” from Stranded 3. Felt like I was as drowsy as the characters.
That’s because it’s called ‘Autumn’. We’ll have none of that US ‘say what you see’ ‘English’ here, m’laddio. /j
In my defence, I was at a party, it was loud… /lh
What if I told you you could also sleep to “Year of the Pig”? ![]()
I listen to that main range villains trilogy a lot to go to sleep haha, Omega, Davros, and Master, I find them pretty relaxing in their way partly because I’ve heard them all so many times that it can just be a nice sound I’m not paying close… attention to… and I can just drift…off into… zzzzz.
Tonight’s bedtime listen is Harry Sullivan’s War, the audiobook!
Read by Christopher Naylor, Big Finish’s Harry.
It’s written by Ian Marter (the original Harry) and from what I’ve heard, it’s like Ian’s fantasy of “what if Harry was thrown into the plot of a James Bond film.”
I’m very on board. Hopefully it’s not too exciting, or I won’t be able to sleep!
