Audio Club: The Fires of Vulcan

I really enjoyed this one! One of my favourite main range stories so far. The performances are brilliant and it really feels like a tragedy to me. The way we get to know the people of Pompeii, the mounting tension, it all just works for me

Loved it. Loved the setting. Loved Seven in it. Loved Mel in it. Enjoyed that it was a pure historical and that all the characters felt like regular citizens of that time period. It also touched on the darker side of Ancient Rome (slavery, prostitution) while still feeling like a Doctor Who story.

Only real downsides were that even though I liked that the main villains were just “regular” Roman citizens, they were a little underwhelming. And also the conclusion of the Murranus’ subplot was a bit weak.

But still, a strong 9/10.
